Being a public transit worker at night is like being on the night shift at Waffle House. Usually you get regular people. Sometimes you get really nice people. But sometimes you get people who make you question all of humanity. And, unfortunately, you consistently get dangerous people. So sad to see someone punch a guy over less than 3 bucks. Less than 3 bucks? Seriously? Sad.
All those passengers are horrible people. Complaining while the driver is trying to protect their safety. I hope one of them gets in a situation like that and no one helps them so they know what it feels like.
Where is the compassion? I got a job to get to? Wow…..nobody cares about anyone but themselves these days….good job bus driver! It's such a thankless job, drivers have to put up with so many rude, disrespectful, intoxicated and sometimes aggressive or insane passengers…..again, good job!!!! I'd feel safe with him driving me anywhere!!!!

I think buses should have a panic alarm even if its a silent one. Also those passengers should have reacted better and helped the driver because if he got killed or incapacitated. jobs do not care that a fight broke out on a bus so that's why you are late unfortunately, so I understand the reaction of the passengers because when the bus is held up here in NY thats the same reaction I see, as well as it being typical for the bus to be held up because someone does not want to pay, me if I was a passenger I would have just called 911 and got off the bus to go catch the next one, cause like I said jobs don't care, unless someone is literally dying before your eyes and you stopped to help them and u better have photo evidence to prove it, its sad but thats the world we live in

A couple of years ago, in Winnipeg (Canada) a drunk man fell asleep on the last run of a bus. The driver tried to kick him off. The drunk spat on him. That's when the driver fought back and the driver lost his life from fatal stab wounds.
Its' not worth a person's life to fight over fares. Just let them on and let the transit authority and or the police handle it at another time.
