6 Disturbing Details of 2-Year-Old’s Hot Car Death While Dad Played Video Games

The day after Parker Scholtes, 2, died after being left in a car in her family’s driveway in Marana, Arizona, her older siblings were interviewed by investigators. The two children were interviewed by detectives last month and their father, Christopher Scholtes, was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree murder and child abuse. That grand jury indicted Scholtes on the more serious charge of 1st-degree murder. Law&Crime’s Angenette Levy details what Scholtes’ children told detectives with Arizona defense attorney Kurt Altman in this episode of Crime Fix — a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

  1. These deaths are never accidents. Never. I have 5 kids and I’ve never in my life forgot one of them anywhere, and I deal with depression, anxiety and ptsd … this is also why I can’t take grown men who play video games seriously, most of them always are a very certain type of person. It speaks a lot. But this goes back to, these deaths are NEVER an accident. It’s an easy way for abusive parents to “off” their kids and get away w it.

  2. He’s a cold blooded killer and faking emotions doesn’t change that so fake he starts crying when the mom comes in to fake empathy smh! Deplorable 😢

  3. He left her in the car because he wanted to play games!? And he didnt want her bugging him! This poor baby the way she must've cried i have a two year old and just imagining her being that baby breaks me to pieces. Why didnt the siblings check on her? Did they not get curious?!

  4. This is no accident this is a case gamer/social media brain it keeps happening all the time and no fancy technology in cars will help just another unessesary piece of technology

  5. It was in the 100 degree range, i went to Walmart not for from his house and it was too hot for me. It starts getting hot in my car as soon as I turn off the ignition so he's lying.

  6. When something is important you don't get "distracted". When he uses the restroom does he forget to wipe his @55 by accident??? NO. It's called he doesn't care enough. Both parents should go to prison. Unfit to be parents

  7. Men in this country need to grow up! Why are you playing video games? You’re not a man if you have children and you’re still playing video games.

  8. Millions of people playing video games every day and this does not happen. The amount of negligence to do this is wild. I check on people even when they are healthy adults.
