7. A “friend” in high school swindled 20 people, mostly his friends out of a few hundred to thousands of dollars. He made a fake website, put his own picture on it to make it seem that he was the owner of the website. Sold electronics for 20% of the retail price.

   Seemed too good to be true. And it was. I feel sorry for his mom. Many of the kids went to her work routinely to threaten her because of her son.

25. If it sounds too good to be true… I hate people like this. My stepfather was scammed after he retired and his health just deteriorated after that. He died about 18 months later. The scammer was never prosecuted.
