Last month, 16-year-old Aiden Fucci pleaded guilty to murdering 13-year-old former classmate Tristyn Bailey in May 2021. Bailey, a cheerleader, was stabbed 114 times. The case made national news not only because of the brutal nature of the crime and the ages of the suspect and victim, but also because of Fucci’s reaction upon being arrested. The teen posted a selfie of himself in the back of police cruiser with a caption that read, “Hey guys has inybody [sic] seen Tristyn lately.â€Â
With the plea, Fucci faces a mandatory minimum of 40 years in prison rather than an automatic sentence of life without parole. Because Fucci is a minor, the death penalty was not an option in the case.
The judge said he will not sentence Fucci right away, as typically, many witnesses, family or friends will often read statements for the judge to consider. Fucci will most likely learn his fate on Thursday.

what I find interesting is that the kids he went to school with seemed to know him better than his own family..that's where the truth comes out re: their behaviour.. but I guess a lot of kids keep it to themselves or tell their parents (not sure but they sure should)…time to speak up — kids told their teachers about Cruz & nothing was done about it.. so sad..

When the judge brought up EHAC (especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel) argument, it means that if this boy was of legal age he could've/would've faced death penalty.

This girl did not deserve to be killed. However, this angelic victim crap is insane. A loose female sneaking out of her parents house in the middle of the night to go into the woods with a boy is a more accurate description here. Get real.

That poor, poor family. I can’t even imagine. I hope they find peace and a life full of nothing but kindness from here on out. Seeing them cry during the judges opening speech is gut wrenching.

I believe some kids are really born to be killers. Each time I fought with other kids when I was little, no matter how angry I was, I would always keep in mind I should at least spare their lives.

The judge is exceptional. He provided most answers, justice and comfort the family & relatives can get during a crime trial. He delivered the sentence in such professional, thoughtful and empathetic manner, they got lucky to have him as judge in the proceedings.
If someone that young can commit a crime then they ain't gonna better with age some dogs need to be put down and he is one of them. Imagine being the girls parents.. give me 5 minutes alone with him and he will be dealt with
