Former ice cream truck driver Michael Keetley is facing a retrial for allegedly shooting six people on Thanksgiving 2010, killing two brothers, and injuring four others. Prosecutors allege Keetley was out for revenge after his ice cream truck was robbed for $12, but mistakenly targeted the wrong suspects. Keetley’s first trial in February 2020 resulted in a deadlocked jury. The former ice cream man is facing two first-degree murder charges and four counts of attempted murder.
Reason For Retrial: Defense attorney’s argued Keetley was too badly wounded from his own shooting, to carry-out the shooting in Ruskin that killed two people. Weak witness testimony led to a mistrial in 2020, after some state witnesses failed to identify Keetley as the shooter, identifying another man in a police mug shot packet. Defense witnesses were more exacting in their testimony, which led to a jury deadlock of 10 not guilty, 2 guilty, and eventually a mistrial.

Not quilty set him free
Every time I glance at the title of the video, my brain sees "Ice Cream Man Double Murder Retrial – ft. Michael Keetley" like it's the title of a rap music video or something. Then my brain proceeds to show me a snapshot of that awful video, with Keetley doing the stereotypical "rap video pose" with his arms crossing over his chest like a self-hug. It's the worst, and I hope writing this comment will make it stop happening.

I WAS optimistic when the Prosecutor gave her opening statement BUT the defense attorney questioning the witness from the restaurant was LEADING THE WITNESS THROUGHOUT and they didn't object one time! This killer is guilty but I believe he is going to walk!!! I'm disgusted…I don't even want to watch anymore!

Up to this point the prosecution can rest, he’s guilty. Unless the defense can explain to me how he couldn’t have done it, I don’t see him walking. I understand that 10 jurors found him not guilty in his first trial and he does have very good lawyers. So it will be very interesting to see if they could change my mind

I have watched Judge Sabella before in a different trial and he is awesome. He doesn't take to just the Prosecution or the Defense side; he is not bias to either side. I will add he has always been concerned for Jurors safety/meals/health/and their time; a great Judge.

I absolutely appreciate how candid Judge Sabella is with his expectations of how things will and should play out.
He gives the utmost respect to the Jury and demands such from all Parties present in a polite matter.
He furthermore- in every case I've seen him preside – always takes the responsibility upon himself for logistical hiccups. In other words, he'll apologize for briefly dismissing the Jurors, and then the Witness. He'll address any issues with the Parties before said issues become audible. Then he'll return the Jury and the Witness and the Courtroom as a whole to it's prior state openly announcing that any disruption was on Him and they can hold it against Him if they have a problem.
And He does all this with prompt and deliberate politeness. This Judge is a Cool-Headed Badass 😎
This trial will take three months with as many times the lawyers approach the Judge.
