Bodycam footage shows the moment a shootout erupted after a suspect’s mother opened the door of her Florida home for cops on March 20. The Jacksonville Police Department said officers went to the suspect’s home after he allegedly fled a traffic stop after blowing a red light. Upon arrival, the mother of 32-year-old Tyliko Maduro complied with officers, unlocking her front door before her son allegedly opened fire right past her, hitting officer Malik Daricaud. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie walks you through the bodycam footage leading to Maduro’s arrest.

  1. The officer that was shot should not have stood in front of the door.

I noticed that the other officers were seeking cover.

Offices need to start speaking their mind and telling other officers that certain decisions are not necessary.

The man said that he did not want his car searched and the officers got the man's mother to illegally allow him in the house.

  2. The officer should have never have gotten the man's mother involved in opening his apartment.

The cops didn't have a search warrant.

I wonder why they didn't get a search warrant?

Offices need to start using common sense and stop getting involved in unnecessary danger.

They put the mother and themselves in unnecessary danger.

  3. Sometimes officers need to fall back.

The Suspect said that he didn't want his car search and the officer should have left it at that.

Sometimes offices put themselves in unnecessary danger.

Th3y should not have continued to badger the man and they should not have gone to the man's home.

The man was wrong for firing an officers but officers need to use more common sense.

  4. While I certainly do not mourn the loss of this upstanding citizen, I do have a question here. Why was this dudes mom even there? Did she own the house? Even if she did, she clearly doesn't live there. Why did the police get the guys mom involved? Over a pretty simple, minor issue. Thank God the wounded officer is recovering.

  5. Well why would you say they are gonna kill you though… that would make someone especially in that mindset more prone to fire and more worked up. But I understand her as a mother..

  6. I don't agree with him running from the police. But I also don't agree with the police bringing his mother out to his own home, and talking her into giving them entry. Lessons learned: Dont break the law, Don't run from the police, Don't give mom a key to your house
