So, obviously this guy is messed up. However this also shows how unequipped many police units are for de-escalating a mentally ill person. Why wouldn't a single person answer him about calling his mother? Why didn't anyone say "wdym man, you're not going to die, we got you, we just need to figure some things out" They didn't know he was on drugs until they found them.
