Those blue pills and that PHARMACEUTICAL Fentanyl patch ARE NOT THE SAME THING AS "IMF" – Illicitly Manufactured Fentanyl, Carfentanil, etc!!! The media need to STOP convoluting the message by interchanging the names and images of safe pharmaceutical agents with dangerous street substances. Used properly, as prescribed, by patients WITHOUT THE INNATE, INHERITED DISEASE OF ADDICTION, which is a BRAIN DISORDER, pain medications are no more a threat, no more a danger, and no more addictive than Flintstones vitamins. THIS IS A PROVEN PHYSIOLOGICAL FACT, PEOPLE.
Don't be lemmings! Don't be brainwashed by all this inaccurate media. RESEARCH! Fewer than 1-5% of ALL PATIENTS WHO TAKE OPIOID MEDICATION EVER BECOME DRUG ABUSERS. To say that 85% of heroin addicts started on pain meds IS NOT the same thing as saying 85% of pain med users turn to heroin! CONTEXT, PEOPLE!! That alone is not even an indication of the addictive potential of pain meds. You have to find "X", folks.
Bottom line: there is ZERO proof of cause and effect between pain med use and heroin addiction. Google "Red Lawhern, PhD" and "Dr. Thomas Kline", "Dr. Lynn Webster", "Dr. Mark Ibsen", "Pain News Network", and "Dr. Forest Tennant". Arm yourself with THE TRUTH. Not just what a bunch of justifiably hurt and angry mothers say, or what your govt is telling you. Or, alternatively, scoff at this if you want to show that you have no critical thinking skills and are incapable of researching ALL THE FACTS before you make up your mind about what's true. If you are one of the millions of Americans who are happily gulping down the spoonfed Fake News, wiping your chins and asking for seconds, then I don't just pity your naivete, I also fear you. it's not just heroin by itself, sometimes dealers have been lacing their product with fentanyl or carfentanyl which by itself is 100x more potent than heroin.
Drugs have always been a real problem for real people!! All those people who have died from drug over doses, that were not from the suburbs, apparently did not count???

THIS STORY GAVE ME THE CHILLS, SO SAD TO HEAR. I've actually had to save someone that had overdosed. It was the most scariest thing I ever been through and every time I hear of someone overdosing or dying from this it literally turns my stomach. And to top it off these rapper and people in the music industry glorify these drugs in their songs. It's said that most people get addicted because of prescription pills from an injury and/or pains they may have. but what's not being mentioned is that the other half of those people becoming addicted is because of what they are listening to in this music that is being released. Yes the older one's addicted may have steamed from an injury but from the hood/ghetto I know and have been exposed to the people that are addicted to this horrible drug comes from the music they are listing to. They" pop the pills and sip the lean" which is eventually what gets most people addicted. This of course is my opinion  but I think most addiction now comes from what the younger generation is hearing in the music they listen to. And most people will more than likely disagree but this is what I see ever day in the inner city.

I recently watched this video and I know first hand the pain of addiction I was on heroin for 6 years and i struggled so hard and I've been clean since may2015 .. I found out a friend of mine and my brothers has passed away from an overdose jan26 , I'm heartbroken
