Yes, you have the right to refuse searches. But part of agreeing to accept parole is agreeing that police can search you at any time. You're not giving people good advice. If a person on parole refuses a search, either passively or actively, they are subject to arrest and possible parole violation. Both are waaay worse than a 10 sec search.
