Thinks he can talk down to a judge and then “say sorry for the record” thinks he can talk down to the prosecutors and “apologize for the record” He talks like he is better than everyone else. 7. The people should elect judges, not have the legislature appoint them. There are too many senators who are also criminal defense attorneys who work on appointing these judges. Judge Newman doesn’t care what senator/defense attorney comes before him but that can’t be said of all SC judges. This is the ONLY state in the US where a committee made up of state legislators appoint judges. I think we have learned that it’s pretty easy to be corrupt in South Carolina for attorneys. This should be the clue that WE THE PEOPLE should elect the criminal court, family court, magistrate judges!

With regards to the death of Stephan Smith it's interesting to hear that Alex's brother Randy Murdaugh was so quickly on the scene after Stephans death and offering his legal services for free too.

24. I don't believe this attorney one little bit; I think he saw how (initially) Alex Murdoch got sympathy when he seeked it and thought he'd try the same plot by claiming he'd had death threats. He really was a piece of crap all through the trial and completely disrespectful to many people.

25. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do, but anytime there’s a high profile trial like this one, either the District Attorney or the lawyers are going to get bad remarks on the Internet. He needs to just get over it and quit reading comments.

Big Papa Randolph Murdaugh was also a crook & was the mentor and protector of Alex Murdaugh..Papa Bear always helped Alex & his sons to get away with crime..Even if Papa Murdaugh did not exactly know of Alex's schemes he always got his back..When Papa Bear was out of the picture, Thats when Alex's schemes started to crumble

28. everyone’s bringing up the video that somehow confirms his guilt..? i guess no one really watched the actual trial they just see everyone else talk about the video and think oh well that must be it. IMO there’s so much more to this. and the fact that he was found guilty in only 3 hours completely destroys my hope in the judicial system. Guilty means confirmed beyond any reasonable doubt. I strongly believe AM did not do this but he knows who did.

Mr. Big shot fell on his face on one of his last trails and made a fool of himself. He’s part of the good ole boys network that fell apart after Alex lost his mind

34. Why not blame Alex for this case? He got on stand and was not credible and could not convince the jury of his innocents. The judge knew Alex was guilty (weave of lies). Alex can't remember the last conversation with Maggie and Paul, but can remember other details about the case.

35. Literally every prosecutor or defense attorney or any counterpart to them are going to get these things from 50% of their cases. Unsurprisingly, it'll be from the people they beat or the lunatics that think making these threats is a good idea.

    This attorney spent weeks attacking SLED (don’t get me wrong they made mistakes and they didn’t adhere to the same protocols that everyone else should be held to which needs to be fixed) and the same law enforcement he pretty much corrupt and unprofessional he probably would want to investigate threats made to him. He could have been critical but the defense focused so much on SLED you would have thought they were on trial for murder!
