it angers me that some police departments keep secrets.. (and are allowed to lie in interviews) giving information about what they know might disarm the perpetrators who otherwise would believe they got away with murder, literally! honesty is the best policy and should be the rule of thumb for everyone. its been 8 years since this program was released.. how can there be any closure, any peace in knowing what happened to these people if the police and judicial systems let tragedies like these drag on for years. my consolation is knowing that our Maker knows and He'll bring everything into light.

I still believe Steven is innocent to this day. Yes, he was a little bitter in answering the questions, but I believe he is innocent. Most people run away from cameras when they don't want to talk (the mother), but Steven did not do that. He answered all of the questions without hesitation.

I think it was Jason carney in my opinion. But he died. I believe Ashley called him to pick her up when she realized she couldn’t see Steven (the guy she had a crush on). Jason must’ve felt like she was using him for rides as he had a crush on her. He killed her…then killed Tony b/c Tony knew. There is evidence although circumstantial. This seems to make the most sense in my opinion

I think the guy that they interviewed in the truck at the end. For one he's drunk or high He's under the influence of something in that little interview. For two I think if he didn't do it he was there when it happened. I'm just wondering what reason he would have had to hurt her. They didn't say she was sexually assaulted or anything so? Now I know they killed the boy. They had to of because he knew. It sounds to me like they all met up that night the girl Ashley the two brothers the boy that ended up going missing. Something happened. Rather it be a party and something got out of hand but she got her. And maybe it was an accident. Maybe somebody panicked instead of calling 911 they made it worse You know what I mean whatever the case but they killed her. And I think for sure the other boy died because either he was there and he saw it happen and I think they were scared he was going to tell some damn buddy. And I think that the guy in the car, it's eating at him You can tell. Don't nobody stay fucked up in broad daylight 24/7 if it wouldn't have bothered him. He'll end up killing himself or doing something and winding up in prison and playing let's Make a deal.
I feel bad for this guy. I truly believe he didn’t do it and he’s been living with the stigma in a small town ever since. He was way too open and forthright for someone supposedly guilty. Like he said, he cooperated with the cops and gave them everything they asked for, lie detector test and all, with no lawyer. He and his mother and brother have been getting harassed for twenty years, of course she doesn’t want to comment anymore enough is enough!
The truth is that the police botched this investigation, and now the friend “Jason†has taken his secrets to the grave.
Side note: Angel (aka Tony) was extremely handsome and his parents are very good looking as well. So was Ashley. Her momma bear is strong and determined too, I hope she succeeds in her legislative goals to make a congressional unsolved crimes unit. Peace to their families.

My theory is he did the nasty with her and she felt bad and wanted to tell cause he’s an adult then he started beating her she fought back gave him that black eye then he strangled her than dumbed her body in the woods.

Jason did it. You can tell even Stephen knows or believes that when saying “I don’t want to speak ill of the dead†referring to Jason. Also saying “it was drug related†with such certainty. Jason and Tony got into a argument about drugs or bad deal while in that car together and it ended with Jason killing him. Jason picked Ashley up from Steven’s house in the middle of that night, she did not stay at the brother’s place. Her last known location was in the vehicle with Jason and then found on the road, deceased. Tony knew Jason had murdered Ashley. Jason Carney killed them both.

The scum bag in the truck that he was talking to during this interview is lying . His entire family knows something an like most parents would do anything to take up for their children. Even if they have to say they were home all night and never left. Those two brothers are guilty of having something to do with both of these people missing. If it was my child missing an I suspect who it was that done it I would kidnap them and I would just beat the truth out of them. I probably wouldn't care if I'd get jail time because if it meant that I would get the answers that I wanted.
Unpopular opinion. Ashley went missing because SHE decided to sneak off to see some boy(s). She lied to her mom about where she was going. So if the sandborn’s said she left why would that be so surprising??? And suing for not taking care of and being responsible for your child that should have never been there???I mean she didn’t deserve to die but honestly think about it. There is no way, law enforcement is involved, these ppl are not wealthy why would the police protect them, no way a child disappeared from ur house ends up dead and the police don’t give details. These ppl need to call some type of federal oversight, I would have written Congress already to have them send a Congressional. Sounds like some sort of police corruption to me. Last person to see 2 ppl 1 is dead and the other is missing and no info after 22 yrs.

Ugh I hate this so much! I don't think the guy in the truck knows or had anything to do with what happened. He's obviously messed up and you can clearly tell he's high and on drug's in the interview. I personally think it was the other brother or the guy that died from the overdose I also think he knows what happened to Angel/Tony. I think after what happened with Ashley he tried to be smarter the 2nd time around and to hush Tony up he got rid of him cause Tony knew to much. I thought the police had a condom they found from that night Ashley was over there?? Did they not run any DNA testing on it or Ashley? This case is so frustrating! I unfortunately think at this point if someone doesn't talk it will never be solved and Poor Tony will never be found. Another thing is if that guy came back from the store without Tony his pants rolled up and wet what could that of been from? How long was he gone? He could have stashed Tony's body and went back later and buried it somewhere… This case has my head spinning!
Jason Carney is the one. In my opinion. He brought Ashley to the Sanborn residence. When Ashley realized that Steven was sleeping and she wouldn't be able to mess around with him I believe she had Jason pick her back up. Jason tries something on her and gets rejected. So he becomes enraged and strangles her to death and then dumps the body in the middle of a road.
Jason also happens to be the last person to have been with Angel "Tony" Torres as well. I believe Jason found out that Tony was talking about knowing who killed Ashley. So Jason offers to bring Tony to the store that night and then returns to the party without him. His pants were wet at the bottom with no water being on the route to the whistle stop and back?
Interesting how Jason gave rides to both of these people. One found dead and the other never found. Jason overdosed and died a couple years ago and so unfortunately there will most likely ever be closure.
So it was signs of some sort of sexual activity, blood, and then she magically decided to leave the house at 12 in the morning? I strongly believe the brother raped that girl and he strangled her then disposed of her. OR he raped her, she left trying to get home, he caught up to her and killed her. As for Tony, he probably confronted the other guy and ended up dead. The link between the two was the driver.
So nothing was brought up about the blood being found in their house and front yard…

I realize they need to be able to prove beyond reasonable doubt, but the simple fact Ashley was last seen alive in their home & there’s evidence proving sexual conduct took place, how far did the investigators go when it came to the teenage males in the home? One of those brothers killed her bc she didn’t give them exactly what he wanted. My guess is the brother who did not speak with the reporter. Then again, the one who did, gloating that she had a crush on him.. very well could have… one of them DID it and they’re all covering for each other. Including the heartless mother. Every single one of these reports I watch make me cringe!!! Obviously because of the nature of the crimes that are reported on, but even more than that the way these investigative reporters go about questioning the people they go and question. First of all, they come off super aggressive shooting questions that seem suggestive of their guilt at them. They obviously have a biased opinion going into to their interview attempts and finally the dumb questions they ask not for the sake of finding out what happened but to push these peoples buttons by not going into the investigation with an open mind or even giving them the benefit of the doubt. I mean seriously why ask these people if they or anybody close to them knows what happened to the victims? Even if they knew, we all know they won’t give it up, do these reporter really think they are going to get the true answers by just simply asking? NO!!! If they haven’t told the cops, whom have the power to negotiate deals for information do u think they are really going to admit fault or throw family members under the bus! The videos are very very entertaining but the reporters have no real talent when it comes to effectively investigating a case in the hopes of really cracking it open and bringing closure!
