Did Cornell student pull the trigger or take the fall in his dad’s death?

Charlie Tan’s businessman father, Jim Tan, was shot to death with a high-powered shotgun in his home office. Charlie Tan claimed he killed his father in order to protect his mother, but is that the truth?

  1. I believe Charlie is gay and his father threatened to disown him due his sexual orientation. The mother promised to help him out if he takes the father out since she was abused domestically.

  2. Asian kids values are very different than western values. The kids become responsible for their parents after their generosity by providing home care and food plus education and they have high expectations of being paid back in the same way. Money and family are very intertwined and tiger parenting instills this in their kids.😢

  3. How could you let your son take the fall for you? He’s such a lovely young man with his whole life ahead of him. How can you call yourself a mother? It’s easy to see that the father was abusive, she needs to tell the truth. You had your chance to live your life lady, why would you take that away from your son?

  4. I understand why the husband was killed but I would never let my son take the fall!! LE was called 19 times due to DV!! You can’t just leave a violent, wealthy man like that because he would either killed her, destroyed her or had her killed!! The law doesn’t protect women in DV situations!!! I understand why her son would do anything to protect his mom!!!

  5. Brutal father? Not sure it all wasn’t an act! Yikes! 😬 the kid is a cold murderer though and must pay in prison! He could have got his mother out of there if real abuse occurred! They may have plotted whole thing for “money”, so can’t be trusted at all! The mother’s call was fake!!!

  6. Ivy League, smart guy with infinite potential, beloved by all that met him who is thought by many to be a fall guy based on an overly ideal moral code he held? Who seemingly confessed via written correspondence, confessed, and the authorities had the murder weapon? Who was charged with federal gun charges? I thought yall were talking about Luigi mangione at first- If it mentioned the authorities planting evidence and that he never actually confessed, along with him not matching the photos they released and said were of the shooter + him not having the skill/experience to be consistent with observed actual execution of the crime, it’d cover all the main points 😹

(Just based on the script/write up, not the actual facts/particulars of the case or people involved- Issa joke) but for real, FREE LUIGI

  7. It surely sounds like the mom did it because the father was horribly abusive and Charlie is taking the fall. I understand the mom but I’d never allow my child to take that kind of accountability.

  8. Ana ♥♥♥♥♥👑👑👑👑👑 Ana's Animals ♥♥♥♥♥, treats and tummy rubs. Tonka sends Ana's Critters a tail wag and a sniff.

  9. This happened in my town. His father was abusive. And clearly the police did NOTHING to protect his mother or Charlie. So typical in Monroe County. The police are 100% Re-active and 0% Pro-Active to protecting their citizens. Moving first chance i get.
