Vancouver, Washington — On July 30th, 2025, at approximately 10:41 p.m., a person called 911 to report that their son was armed with a gun and was going to kill them. The caller reported that their son had broken the front door of the home and was inside, was high on meth, and had been drinking. Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies responded to assist the Vancouver Police Department near East 27th Street and H Street in Vancouver. As deputies responded, the caller reported that the subject left the home on a bicycle. At 10:47 p.m., a Vancouver Police Officer observed the subject on a bicycle riding on Columbia Street, then turning Southbound on Daniels Street.

Roughly 30 seconds later, a CCSO Deputy reported over the radio that the subject “still has gun on him.” Several minutes later, deputies located the subject near Main Street & E 19th Street in downtown Vancouver. At 10:51 p.m., an officer-involved shooting occurred. Law enforcement personnel provided first aid to the man. Medics pronounced the man deceased at the scene. No law enforcement or uninvolved parties were physically injured. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 36-year-old Branden Michael Whitcomb. Deputy Michael Gonzalez is now on Critical Incident Leave, per standard protocol.

Deputy Gonzalez was involved in two previous incidents where police shot suspects to death. In 2019, Gonzalez, then with Portland police, and another officer shot to death a man suspected of stabbing four people. A grand jury determined that the officers’ actions were justified. Gonzalez used his patrol car in 2021 to help stop a suspect fleeing in another car. The pursuit ended with two other deputies fatally shooting the suspect.

  2. TIRED AND MAD TO SEE COPS MASSACRING SUSPECTS | I don't know why, but all I see are cops shooting to kill, not shooting to immobilize the suspect or to make the suspect surrender with one or just 2 shots most. I used to go to the range to practice and this can be done. But these cops I see all over YouTube go for the kill. They even say without shame, heart or remorse "I go lethal".

  3. Meth rots the brain cells until inside the skull most of the cells are dead and rotted. Probably stinks to high heaven in there…
And guess where he got the gun? Yep, you guessed it: Mom is a gun nut and he got the gun from her couch!

  4. I read the title and thought, "Wow, why would you threaten a cop's parents??" Then I thought, "Wait, why is an on-duty officer with his parents? That's weird."
Turns out it was the suspect's parents. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️🤦

  5. if u threaten any parental figure idgaf how bad they treat u i will send u a beating myself from god almighty and you will learn what its like to be loved may god strike those who down to take life from those that give amen in his name lord i plead to you

  6. Officer is like, "his brains are hanging out of his skull so he's not really talking to us right now. We totally feel ignored and maybe a bit neglected. He's being such a dick. We really thought we had something special.". O.O

  7. " he's not really responding to commands right now ". 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

  8. It’s very sad when people’s choices in life, lead them down a dark spiral to the point of losing the precious gift of life that they’ve been given.

  9. That Gonzalez cop killed 2 other suspects in the line of duty within the last 6 years. That’s 3 bodies since 2019. Just saying to see that much action in that amount of time is kinda nuts. I’ve heard of several cops retired after 30+ years with out even having to pull the trigger on anyone.
