  1. These cops were SO SOFT on him, used two sets of cuffs so he wasn't uncomfortable, let him stall for 5 minutes making phone calls, "our seats are hard so be careful sitting down", let me park your car on the side of the road so we don't have to tow it 🤣 I bet they've never done that for a DUI stop and will never do it again

  2. Former Champaign County Sheriff Matthew Melvin was sentenced in April 2025 to one year of community control (probation) and a total of $472 in fines and court costs after pleading guilty to a reduced charge
Jail Time: Melvin was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with 57 of those days suspended. He received credit for three days of "time served" by completing a court-provided driver intervention program.
License Suspension: His driver's license was suspended for six months

  3. I've never heard of anyone being released after a DWI they get thrown in the cell until they sober up and have to wait to get bailed out and see the judge. what they did was messed up those cops that even arrested him should be fired too!

  4. I use to work as an EMT. One place I worked was In a city, Peekskill, NY . Police, Fire, and Ambulance all work as kind of a group. This was before body cameras. Police , almost all of them, drove drunk, and we're let go if they were pulled over. It was a given, with tickets, and other arrestable offenses. Fire and EMS were given a similar "courtesy". They all feel entitled. This would be happening all the time still, if body cams were not mandatory.

  5. How much do you bet that A$$ will get off. So drunk he vomits down the side of his truck and it looked like he peed his pants, but oh well. You know the sergeant retired because he knew the Sheriff would retaliate and make the sergeant's working life h*ll.

  6. Sad that special privilege they have isn't it? The sheriff gets out of these charges and pays a $250 fine if would have been you and I they would have took our license and cost us thousands contrary to believe they don't serve or protect. Corruption clear and simple!!

  7. I don’t understand why officers would take this kind of time w a stop when real victims may need their time resources and help. I think drunk drivers should be given a total of 5 min for a stop and ticket. And why is he giving him the courtesy of parking the guys car would they do that for me or just tow it? And why can he call to arrange w someone to pick him up?

  8. God: y'all gonna be assigned two words or phrases that you will be able to say when drunk out of your mind. Make a line and wait patiently.
Matt: great, it's my turn finally! What am I supposed to do with 'really?' and 'you guys are amazing?'
God: I'll let you stick your hand there in the hat and draw another one, ok?
Matt: this one better be… 'CUTE?' what am I suppose to do with this one?

  9. So many people stop watching when the washed up cop comes on to give his unless 2 cents that now you have to do the charges after him to get people to watch….just quit having this guy give his useless synopsis

  10. Why Why dont your American cops breathalyse at the roadside. Its simple quick and if positive it means your arrested under suspicion of being DUI. Back at the station you go on the big machine and you pray it comes back under. No ifs or BUTs. Lock the piece of crap up

  11. So they let him make phone calls, didn’t tow his truck – and basically treated him w kid gloves the entire time. If anything, they should be harder on fellow officers ( especially those in charge), bc they know the damage that drunk drivers cause. Glad that officer called him out.

  12. Both of the arresting officers should be removed from their post for this type of special treatment. IDGAF if you're a sheriff, if you pull shit like this you should be treated the same as anybody else..he could have murdered somebody behind the wheel being that drunk. Truck should have been towed, he should have spent the night in jail, he should have received obstruction charges, and they clearly allowed him to make phone calls even while being 'booked,' for his wife to pick him up?! SMFH. ACAB, baby! Only good cop…..

  13. When a person of authority gets arrested, they should be fired, doesn't matter if they made threats or exhibited regret. They have power and can internally sabotage an officers career

  14. Former Sheriff Melvin was corrupt as all can get. He used to oversee the Tri-County Regional Jail “ 3 Sheriff’s and 3 county commissioners oversee the jail” in Mechanicsburg, Champaign County Ohio is corrupt to the core. Tri-County is well overdue for a in house cleanup. Im a former employee of that jail

  15. Wow… Cops would never allow a regular person to act like this and still be treated with so much grace. Any other person would be forced into cuffs, quickly, and wouldn't be allowed to play on their phone during the stop. Also, they would tow the car even if there was another sober person who could take possession of it. If not for the body cams they probably would have let him drive away…

  16. Slam the dam book at him. He wasnt even owning up to his mistake and you just know if he was a responding officer to a dui/ovi he would fo anything in his power to get the offender with everything he could find. This guy get let off lightly. Keep his ass in jail.
