Long Beach, California — On Feb. 6, 2021, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Magnolia Avenue and 14th Street regarding a call of a person with a gun, which resulted in an officer involved shooting. Officers responded within minutes due to five recent shootings that occurred in a five block radius since January 1st. Arriving officers located the suspect later identified as 26-year old Anthony Loia walking northbound who matched the detailed description provided by the calling parties. Officers observed Loia with a firearm on the west side of a park, still brandishing his firearm.

Officers gave multiple commands for Loia to drop his firearm, Loia refused, and an officer involved shooting occurred. Officers immediately rendered aid until the Long Beach Fire Department arrived on scene and determined the suspect deceased. The preliminary investigation revealed Loia was walking in the area pointing a firearm at multiple passing vehicles and at least four different victims. A firearm was recovered at the scene. No victims sustained any injuries. It was determined five officers were involved and the officers did not sustain any injuries.

  1. ngl the police do be overkill asf i understand he has a weapon and he isn't complying so yeah shoot him, but you know damn well they don't need to load 9+ bullets into someone. it's just fucking sad to see it go like this every time. lesson is to comply, but I still think they should restrain on loading an entire mag into someone.

  2. "U ok?" Lol knowing damn good n well dude never even pointed the gun at them. Then "hey…. ummm… maybe we should do medical… does somebody wanna grab gloves or?..)

  3. When the cop called out the shooting he sounded so depressed as if he knows he's gonna not be getting off work on time and knows there's a whole boatload of paperwork incoming.

EDIT: I'm at the second body cam footage now and these cops just talk so chill. XD

  4. Jesus Fucking Christ that dispatcher got on my nerves

"We need the police! There's a man with a gun and he's pointing it at everybody!"

Dispatcher: That's not the question. Did he point it at YOU?

WHY THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER!? There's some lunatic with a gun pointing it at everyone and everything. God she dumb🤦🏽‍♂️
