the cops have very bad deescalation skills. and they also keep bossing people around when its not needed. When you got theese sort of big ego guys you are not gonna improve the situvation by saying "sit down on this chair!". You need to be polite and not so arrogant and bossy. "would you please take a seat?".
And then they tried to prevent him from leaving when they are not investigating him for any crimes. Cops allways think they can kidnap you until you give goverment issued ID without any cause. They cant. And when you try to break the law by illegally kidnapping people(controlling their movements) when you have no cause for it you will make them lash out. At that point you got a cause for arresting them, but you caused them to lash out by breaking the law.
