Woodbridge Township, New Jersey — On May 29, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers from the Woodbridge Police Department were dispatched to a residence on East Tappen Street in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township, in response to multiple 911 calls. The callers reported an assault with injuries during an incident involving a male, later identified as 35-year-old Aamir Allen, who had a baseball bat. Responding officers encountered Allen, who was carrying a bat while walking in the roadway. Officers repeatedly ordered Allen to drop the bat. Allen did not drop the bat and began walking away as officers followed him from a distance. Allen stopped walking outside a closed convenience store in Port Reading, where he stood holding the bat as officers continued ordering him to drop the bat. The defendant responded to the scene shortly after a transmission was broadcast over the police radio reporting that Allen had struck occupied cars with the bat. The defendant exited the vehicle and, after issuing several commands for Allen to drop the bat, fired six shots from his service weapon. Allen was wounded and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick at approximately 1:40 a.m. He was pronounced deceased at 9:21 a.m.
A state grand jury, acting under the law that requires the presentation of fatal police encounters to a grand jury, had returned an indictment against the Woodbridge Police Sergeant. After hearing testimony and evidence, the grand jury finished deliberating on April 6, 2026, and voted to indict Sgt. Marco Bruno, who fired a series of shots that struck and killed Allen, with aggravated manslaughter (1st degree). Allen’s death was investigated by the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability (OPIA), and the case was presented to New Jersey residents serving on the grand jury in accordance with the Independent Prosecutor Directive of 2019. Following deliberations, the grand jury voted to file an aggravated manslaughter charge against the defendant.

Officer Stretch ready to just manhandle him
Wow that's crazy they could have just tased him the guy would have fell down The guy wasn't running out of her charging out of my hope that officer goes to prison cuz he probably killed the guy and he shot him like five times you know the guy had mental problems probably they could have just tased him he would have went down
So much for maintaining distance lol. Circling him sure calms the suspect.
😂😂😂 40 flics avec des flingues des tazer des matraques Vs un mec seul avec une batte … Bavure policière 💩💩💩
Cop was definitely over zealous he was itching to pop dude but dude did tell them to shoot him 🙄
Probably soros prosecutors
No way this Sargent gets convicted..This idiot got what he was asking for..How long and how many times u gotta tell someone to drop the weapon I don't care if it was a bat
That Sergeant is a psycho
Cop deserved an award, not an indictment.
Ok boys! You know what time it is. Bust out your favorite alcoholic beverage and take a sip every time the cops say, "Drop the bat!". Good luck sirs.
I live half a mile from where this happened and I drive past that very spot every day. I’m truly happy that this Sergeant has just been indicted for 1st degree manslaughter which carries a prison term of 10 to 30 years. I don’t have much faith in the justice system though, due to both my mother and ex husband being murdered (40 years apart) and all perpetrators were basically given a slap on the wrist. Cops like this are extremely dangerous to the public they are supposed to be protecting! I hope he rots in prison!
How bout a sticky net gun?
And this was the supervisor.
Not a single taser deployed but 1000 people yelling the same thing.
Are they non existent in this pd¿
Unjustified
Kinda fucked up
As a retired police officer/ sergeant, that indictment is correct. The sergeant did give him what he asked for.
That was hard to watch. If they had time to chase him and give commands, they had time to try less lethal. Not complying isn’t the same as posing an immediate threat, especially if he wasn’t charging anyone. This needs a full investigation.
Sargent going to jail. Trigger happy once he arrived on scene.
Charging the cop is just another example of a woefully broken criminal justice system. They gave him literally dozens of commands to drop the bat.
They let that shit go on about 20 minutes too long, Jesus.
It's not often I'm in shock at police behavior. I am right now. I mean what in the actual…. Aggravated manslaughter is about right.
2 mistakes. Not tazing him long ago, this went on for 6 minutes. 2) shooting him 12 feet away while he is still. Unjustified. Actually crazy. Shows incompetence for 6 minutes straight and then trigger happy murder the next second.
Uhhhhh WTF?!? Dude straight rolled up to the scene and thought to himself 'Yeah, I wanna kill a guy and I'm going to do it." Super surprised and happy that the justice system actually did the right thing and indicted this fucking psychopath
Wow that's how you handled it! Pull up get out of car run up front! Give a few commands! No response! Then magdump to make sure it doesn't happen again! And no screeming women and Taser after shots
That was definitely wrong. Looked like murder to me. Cop ran up told him to drop the bat six times in 8 and a half seconds and shot him 4 or 5 times! 19 seconds from opening his door to shooting the guy and he squeezed in a 40 yard dash! Thank god he was white cause cities would burn
Listen to how calm the murderer is after having just shot a man without reason, that is a psychopath, the police force seems to attract a lot of them.
Interesting… not so tough after all.
Че просто так застрелили чувака😮 они там че ваще ебанутые, он даже шага в их сторону не сделал🤦 это америка епта…
That Sergeant had no reason to shoot. I’m glad he faced charges. He is a disgrace to the Department.
😂😂😂 baseball bat vs guns, only 1 winner
He could have been tased by multiple officers, but serge rolled up like I don't have all day.
I guess this department doesn't issue stand alone flashlights, tasers or do much training. I felt like every officer was either holding nothing or holding their firearm. Even when the car was coming, not one was smart enough to think they should illuminate the scene to prevent possible vehicle strike. It shows why Bruno was negligent. The deescalation of the other officers was good, but they had zero game plan.
See I find this odd from the beginning because you want him to comply but your trembling with a gun and distance and your going crazy commands from the beginning I think escalates it
100% justified
Six bullet strikes and you're OUT ….looks like a case of an itchy trigger finger?
Don't waste your time putting on gloves and trying to save this loser. Let him go to his maker the devil.
I think they shot a little too quickly. He was just standing there. I can understand if he was charging.
This one is absolute bullshit, all those cops and no taser? WTF he was just standing and not moving when they unloaded on him.
Dude said Barry Bonds 😂
Instead of walking around the streets for ages in the rain with 17 police officers 1 simple way to have ended this was a taser…. why didnt they tase him ???? Mad they shot him over 4 or 5 times
Usually don’t say this, but this officer needs to be charged with murder. Didn’t even try less lethal against a bat that wasn’t even swung. Dudes think they’re navy seals smh not to mention the sheer numbers they could’ve rushed him without a blade or gun. Like that James Bond quote license to kill as soon as you exit the academy lmao.
they could have fired non lethal rounds and tasers simultaneously.. wow
NJ version of Nordic Walking..
Remind me to never go to Woodbridge Township, NJ. Place looks like the apocalypse happened with police going every which way.
