The caregiver of Alex Murdaugh’s mother took the stand and recalled conversations she had with the disgraced lawyer around the time his family was murdered. Shelley Smith testified the disbarred South Carolina attorney told her he was at his mother’s house for 30-40 minutes the night his wife and son were killed. Smith claims Murdaugh was at his mother’s, where she was, for about 15-20 minutes.

She was the witness that cooked the goose the most. He was well done before he took the stand-because of this woman.
And had the nerve to call her a liar and he is the master of all LIES😆

Did anyone else have a difficult time understanding her? I understood her very clearly (and consistently so), but the attorney keeps asking her to repeat herself as if he couldn't hear her. No wonder she is looking at him like he is somehow deficient.
This witness seem very truthful and truly compassionate. Truly sad this had happened.
His lack of reaction to things is highly suspect. Didn't look glad, happy, or even semi appreciative when she mentions how good and loving the Murdaugh family is. It's as if he despises her so much for testifying.
This prosecutor was terrible. Thank goodness Mr Waters did most of the trial.

He wanted to claim that at time of the murder he had gone to visit mum but the time dispointed him .
That attorney's pacing around during his questioning is really annoying. She was too nice to tell him to stand still when addressing her. I guess the judge couldn't intervene.

I feel compassion for her. The attorney, not so much. I couldn't stand him.
