The courtroom erupted in laughter after a juror overseeing Alex Murdaugh’s trial mentioned the unusual belongings she had to collect before leaving court. “A dozen eggs,” the juror said to Judge Clifton Newman when he said she can retrieve her personal belongings. “You want to leave to the eggs or take the eggs?” Newman asked the woman as the courtroom started laughing. The woman was removed by the jury due to possible conversations about the case outside of the courtroom.

41 thoughts on “‘A Dozen Eggs’: Courtroom Laughs at Alex Murdaugh Juror’s Unusual Belongings

  1. so sad forced retirement approaching here for Judge Newman… especially when we have interminable Supreme Court justices and President Uncle Bernie Biden.

  2. love the commentary. Even the most Serious moments in life needs a small break from seriousness to recharge to continue being serious further.

  3. He is a weird killer. He laughing like he's sitting there representing a client laughing it wasn't even that funny lol South Carolina dodged some bullets exposing this family its scary what they were up to for all those years.

  4. As funny as it was turns out this was the most crucial single moment in the entire case even more critical than the video of Alex as had this juror stayed she made clear in no way she would ever condone a guilty verdict on Alex Murdaugh

  5. It's hard to see for sure but the names of the alternate jurors appear to be in an empty box of tea or coffee mix too.

  6. Look at that giant smile. If I was being wrongfully tried for killing my wife and son I don’t think it would be possible to smile.

  7. That is unusual, my question is why did she bring eggs with her to court?? Must of had them on sale and didn't have time to run home. She made sure she had them 🤣🤣

  8. So the jury isn't impartial and just admitted the majority started out thinking Alex is guilty (watch the jurors interview on Good Morning America)

If I was Alex, I would use the jurors words for another trial.

I think Alex is guilty but I'm not sure a juror can say they thought he was guilty at the very beginning. They are already biased.

  9. You can tell his wife or his maid does his grocery shopping, because he doesn't know how a dozen eggs cost these days!!🙄 Those little b*st*rds are expensive af!!

  10. This was a nice little light-hearted moment and what was a very sad trial. And I agree with the other people. My mind would be so completely somewhere else that even if something funny like that happened, i don't think I would even be able to grin. Number one. If I was innocent I wouldn't be able to smile the whole time I was there. Even if something funny happened, I would not be able to process it. My mind would be how am I going to convince these people that I did not kill my family.
