Disgraced lawyer Alex Murdaugh still faces over one-hundred criminal charges in connection to financial crimes, most of which he admitted to while testifying in his family murders trial. The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office has stated they intend to pursue every charge even though Murdaugh was sentenced to life in prison for murdering his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul. The Law&Crime Daily team breaks down what’s next for the disbarred attorney.

Weak defense team. Derange person was Alex. Who knew that Maggie and Paul were going to be at the kennels that person was Alex who knew there were two guns behind the feed room that person will be Alex so you’re telling me some deranged person had all that information..
I've noticed with human beings overtime that when they stutter a lot they seem to be lying😅
Whatever…. He joined the skinheads
Off course he a skin head now 😂🤣
If there was any doubt he didn't kill them he would have been found not guilty, thankfully he stayed in that county for trial
In focusing so much on his alibi he forgot to go big on trying to find the killers and tell police to get to buster as he might be at risk.
I wish the family of Mallory Beach could get some money for her, but he's broke. It doesn't bring her back but it feels wrong that they get nothing out of it. That beautiful girl was just about to start her life, but Timmy killed her. 😢
Does anyone think that eventually he might admit the truth? The main thing is that as this young Juror has said that without the kennel video he would have never said anything about the fact that he was there but why didn't he say it from day one and if the police had not cracked his phone they only had the clothes but really had nothing.
Alec will most likely know his drug dealers in prison.
This just sounds like him trying to prove he didn't do it but also no one else did it or was there. Like. No it was not me but there was no one there. I was with them at that moment, but I saw no one. Wtf man
I disagree I do not believe he loved his wife or son at all. I don’t believe a Narcissistic Pathological Liar and Murderer knows what Love is. You don’t mow down your wife and son with multiple bullets and premeditate this murder when he asked Maggie that Paul and her come to his house that night and then know what love is. Alec only loved himself he only used everyone else for his own needs. These comments of oh I’m sure Alec loved his family are totally not using common sense. Blowing Paul’s brains out of his head isn’t loving Paul if so then you got a problem. The word Love needs a new definition if that’s the case. Go talk to Webster.
That repeated "disgraced lawyer" is getting old. Every single news broadcast says it… Can't they think of anything on their own?
I h8 that guy
He will be set free not enough physical evidence……an everyone in courtroom knew him even the judge to much financial evidence involved also to convince jury
Looks like another Netflix special coming up soon
Is he the victim now?
No bond, no parole
Levy doesn’t seem to understand that the juror is 22 now, like Paul was when he was killed, not the same age that Paul would be today.
Mr Murdaugh testifies that he hates that he lied to and stole from his victims. That is not true. The truth is he hates that he got CAUGHT lying and stealing. If he had not been found out, he would still be doing it!
The only regret he has, is that he got caught
He should get a appeal
That’s true they should had never aloud the part of his money problems
That defense lawyer is grasping at straws. Alex was there … mere minutes before the murder. And he originally lied about it. Most people would have been in total shock saying my god I was just there! How did this happen? How did I miss it? For me, that did it. ps – this case has taken up enough of good people's time. It's a slam dunk. Let's be done with it.
EVERYONE ELSE HAD A SOLID ALIBY!!!!
Either way of the appeal goes through he is still going to be in prison for the rest of his life
It's Ironic he gets to see how all the people he sent away to prison feels
I have a bad feeling there will be a successful appeal. I wasn’t comfortable with how much the prosecution used evidence of his financial crimes and past dishonesty. Now he likely opened the door to that when he took the stand, but in general, you can’t use past and unrelated crimes to prove the defendant is dishonest and committed murder.
Initially the prosecution was using it just to establish Murderin’ Murdaugh’s motive. But Mr. Waters went much further than that on cross examination. Time will tell if that was proper.
I don't believe there was foul play in the death of Gloria…if that was the case Maggie would be a murderer…and I don't see that about her at all…
I don't think the prosecution has provided a motive in Alex's case for murdering his wife and son that was in any way compelling or convincing. When the case goes to appeal, the appellate court may well quash Alex's conviction on the grounds that his guilt has not been proved beyond reasonable doubt, both because of the lack of a convincing motive, and also because of a flawed and incomplete investigation on the part of law enforcement, as well as defects in the trial procedure. However, I'm not holding my breath that the appeal will succeed. It could go either way. I think I heard the chief defense lawyer say post-trial that they will pursue appeals as far as the US Supreme Court if necessary.
The financial charges would be much easier to prove, especially since Alex has already confessed in court to many of them. His conviction on those charges would no doubt mean that he will still spend a prolonged period in prison, whatever the result of the appeals on the murder charges may be.
