An Ohio man was arrested after destroying a tree when he crashed into it while allegedly fleeing police on March 8. The Piqua Police Department said an officer began pursuing a car after it was observed driving in reverse. Authorities said the suspect, later identified as 63-year-old Christopher Morrison, allegedly continued going backward until he crashed into a tree and fled on foot before he was apprehended. Morrison was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence and without a license, reckless operation, failure to comply, and resisting arrest.

These cars now a days with the electronic drive gear sensors in the transmission really suck. Reminds of when my car would only allow me to drive forwards but not backwards all due to a faulty sensor in the transmission. But I have to say, this is the first time I have ever seen a case of self-inflicted whip-lash.
