New York investigators announced the identification of “Jane Doe seven†in the Gilgo Beach murders case. Karen Vergata has finally been identified after she went missing 27 years ago in the Long Island area. Authorities have not said whether Vergata’s murder is connected to the alleged serial killings of Rex Heuermann, who stands accused of killing three of the women found in the same area. Now that she has her name back, hopefully charges and justice are next for Karen.
It may have been another person, or maybe it was Rex. Supose rex kills her and goes out of his way to hide the remains, even going so far as to dismember. But, he realized it was not necessary. And messy. So perhaps he changes to the burlap. It is possible. But it is also possible that it was someone who knew her. Hard to say. I just pray she receives justice.
