1. Of course they covered up the hospital surveillance. I am not surprised in the slightest. Shady

2. I have a child, when a baby 6 weeks old he was very ill. He was shrinking in weight and was violently ill, the doctors and hospitals were considering me of MBP. Turns out my child had pyloric stenosis and was misdiagnosed, I went to at least 20 different doctors, that's what mothers do. All along the way they were blaming me. It happens.

3. A few wicked people targeted this family and their toxicity spread everywhere. They should all be ashamed, fired and removed from the field! This whole family was tortured illegally and Mama was so distraught that her only recourse to save her baby was to remove herself permanently. Outrageous behavior from these people.

5. This is difficult to watch, in that, in one court room, is a complete display of what is wrong with our society. Plaintiff trying to fight for truth and justice, a large organization with millions behind them with their smug attitudes, in a room not interested in truth and justice. In my opinion the Judge is completely bias and for some reason, hungry for the acceptance of the jury and defense legal team. It's like watching a kid try to get admiration from the kids at the cheerleaders/football teams lunch table .ffs. This is so unjust.

6. The defense team are trash humans. Laughing in the back while Mr Kowalski is testifying. I hope all of these people get the absolute worst karma coming to them. 🤮🤮🤮

7. Since when does "any and all footage pertaining to Maya and her family" not include the specific footage of them recording her in the room? That was an absolute bias on the judges part towards the defense.

Kowalski needs to really pay attention to the question Mr Anderson asks, because the defense objects, and for as little as the judge overruled their objections, they know kowalski won't remember the question, and neither will Mr Anderson. This is the most unprofessional lawyer I've ever seen in my life

12. The defense and judge are so in cahoots, this is terrible, I’ve never seen so much disrespect in a court room, judge and his laughing at prosecution the rolling of eye, dismissing all there evidence , they bullied that lawyer and had him so nervous he was all over his own words

14. The judge was so biased during Jack's testimony. He's definitely for the defense. But Jack handled himself very well throughout the defenses cross examination even with the judge being biased towards the plaintiffs.

18. When Mayas dad laughed about the large amount of questions the jury had, that laugh/giggle and smile sealed the deal for me that he is the best. He’s so completely genuine and down to earth. What a guy! I believe Beata was equally amazing in her own ways.

    So thankful for the way this whole case ended. It doesn’t make them whole again, but it at least gives them some justice and the ability to start piecing their lives back together again and the long journey to healing and peace. ❤

19. To anyone critiquing the lawyer for Maya – ​​⁠to me the difference looks like – plaintiff’s attorney actually cares. But doesn’t have a large team of lawyers doing legwork for him because the family are paying for this.

    Defence – looks very well prepared because they likely have a team of lawyers working 24/7 while they’re actually in court (where plaintiff is having to do everything around spending all day every day in court). But they cross examine aggressively when no aggression is warranted, refuse to allow any of the witnesses to finish a train of thought and act like the stereotype of ‘big corporation with a big team of lawyers that will trample you’.

    I think the judge is handling it well, considering. And I think that 99.9999% of times this would never get this far because the hospital would bury the legal team in paperwork and the costs of a trial like this is astronomical.

    So I give massive props to Anderson and team. And they won. For once the good guys got the win.

23. Funny how the judge is okay with the text papers until the hospital lawyer says “i dont see why we even need these” then all of a sudden he says “ya know what, (as usual) I agree with you dear” just blow them kisses while you are at it judge 😘

26. Horrific tragedy. My heart goes out to him, Maya, and that brother. How desperate Maya's mother had to have felt. It's infuriating to me the way the nurses, doctors, psychologist, the God awful Sally Smith and Bedy behaved.

29. My children are much less expressive around other people, particularly those they don't know well, compared to myself and their father. They bottle things up and then will have emotional explosions around us, their parents, because that is where they feel safe and secure enough to express themselves. Even if my son has a typical winter illness, he may not discuss it with anyone else but then have a meltdown with me about how bad he feels. It's then my job to help him out, as his mother. Especially as children's emotional maturity is such that they often can't process their feelings by themselves… I imagine this type of thing is much more heightened when you're talking about chronic and excruciating pain. Poor Maya must have found it incredibly hard to understand all of this and her stress will have been more apparent around her mother, and father at times. Furthermore, being separated from your parents for 3 months, and spending most of your time with strangers, of course she is going to keep a lot of her feelings inside. It's a very scary situation to be in. Beata knew all of this and felt her daughter's pain more than anyone else. That's what we do as mamas. I hope this poor family finds peace one day.

30. I’ve never seen jurors allowed to be question. I think that’s great. Is that a Florida thing, or just how this judge conducts his courtroom?

33. This prosecuting Atty is a mess. Mr Anderson needs to get himself prepared. He comes across as weak and unprepared, bumbling and incompetent.

Just to note “Disability Benefits” are nothing in state of Maine I believe they are federal funds as well so unlikely they got ANY financial supplement from disability just based off from their income… my son has Cerebral Palsy & “we” his father & I “made too much” & in our case it amounted to something like $30 /month & required us to provide submit our monthly income ( paystubs from both his father & myself) every month… it was not even worth the continuous effort of submitting all income every month to even bother with it! We opted to forfeit the “disability benefits” We have always carried private insurance as well & also paid an additional secondary insurance premium through the state called “ Katie Beckett” ( a separate Mainecare “bucket/ funding”) for quite some time in order to supplement what our medical insurance did not cover. We also had to pay for seizure medication recommended by his neurologist for his seizures that came out of country because it was not FDA approved in the USA we were quite literally going bankrupt. Our son’s Cerebral Palsy was due to medical malpractice & I actually worked for the hospital at the Time of his birth/injury I wish we had gotten a diligent attorney in hindsight but one of the physicians involved was also a close family friend of my Husband & His family at the time & as stated I worked at the hospital responsible too! Would’ve…should’ve…could’ve hmmmm Divorced now too & He has little to nothing to do with our boys!

37. Did everyone here who doesn't like this judge not realise that he just saved this trial from going to mistrial and being scrapped altogether thus denying the family the chance to be heard? He could have easily done this. Are any of you even lawyers to be able to judge how a judge should behave? Just because he is a pt biased towards the plaintiff doesn't make him unfair. The level is armchair critics in this chat is ridiculous.

38. I think the problem Mr Anderson is facing with the video and the dependency hearing is that the previous lawyer didn't say anything to anyone about the fact that she hasn't seen the video. He is trying to clean up the mess left behind and the defence is not letting him imply they were deliberately hiding this video. The lawyer involved in the DCf hearing might not have been as experienced as the hospital lawyers and got caught out not viewing the video in time. There is nothing to be done about this now. This could have made a difference if she did view the video before those DCf hearings but she didn't.

39. The daughter suddenly gets sick July 2015 and all of a sudden in 16. It’s the mom’s fault.? But there is a son at home and the dad is the primary parent because he doesn’t even work and take the Daughter to physical therapy, so why is it the mom’s fault?

40. So they were getting a divorce? They were legally separated?

42. Wow! It was clear that the defense implied that Beata was diagnosed with MBP at 3 hospitals pior and the judge did NOTHING. He knew they were lying and let it slide. Unreal.
