In an incident captured on camera by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, an Arizona Tesla driver was caught texting while behind the wheel, with no hands on the steering wheel. The driver’s behavior was spotted by Deputy Frank Sloup, who pulled the vehicle over. When questioned about the act, the driver stated, “My car was on autopilot.” Deputy Sloup responded, “There should be some sort of attention being paid while you’re driving your missile down the road.” The deputy’s statement, representing the stance of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, highlights the potential risks associated with distracted driving, even in a technologically advanced vehicle like a Tesla.

The incident, brought to light by Deputy Frank Sloup, has sparked a discussion about the responsibility of drivers when using advanced driver assistance systems, such as Tesla’s Autopilot. While these systems are designed to aid drivers and improve safety, they are not a substitute for human attention and control. The driver’s attempt to use Autopilot as an explanation for texting and driving raises questions about the understanding of the limitations of the technology and the importance of remaining alert while operating a vehicle.

  1. Blue mustang kid really stud out! Wow! What an attitude. Cop has been nothing but respectful. What a composure he has. If I ever get pulled over, I wish he pulls me over. Bravo 👏

  2. I love how you educate the drivers! Appreciate your style and self-control, and kindness! Stay safe! 🙏🏼🕊🇺🇸

  3. I enjoy your videos. I'm getting irritated by the new YouTube press for inserting ads into them. The first ad precedes the video, and the second one plays less than a minute in. One or two more play depending on whether the video is over ten minutes in length.

  4. Wow! Do not Americans respect Police? Talk about entitled oxygen thieves, kudos to the officers for their manners , politeness and professionalism. The Police down here in Oz are way less tolerant of brainless disrespectful people.

  5. I like frank he is much nicer rhan me at times. The last kid would have gotten the tickets and car towed. I give the chance for someone to get the vehicle but if yhey act that way its getting towed.

  6. Traverse City Michigan cops lol. I remember MY first time. D-bag pulled me over for running a yellow light because I didn't have time to stop. Gave me a ticket. 17 years old, on my way to work!

  7. “I live on the mountain of right. I got a condo there”

Most men work their whole lives striving for confidence like this. Hilarious.

  8. Well if your broke or not, YOUR CAR SHOULD NOT SMELL LIKE WEED, IT’S ILLEGAL TO DRIVE AND SMOKE!!! IN EVERY FING STATE!!!!

  9. From a European viewer:

My sincere respect and compliments, and yes, you are just doing your job, but in a way that is exemplary. You are the embodiment of a 'gentleman sheriff,' and by doing so, you personally help polish the image of the American police officer. Bless you!

  10. The kid in the blue car learned his attitude from his parents. I would have been able to drive again while living under my dad's roof if I treated an officer that way.
