Milwaukee, Wisconsin — On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Milwaukee Police Department officers along with a Department of Corrections Agent responded to the 1900 block of South 12th Street to check for a wanted suspect with a parole violation. Upon arrival, an officer in full uniform encountered the suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Jonathan Otto, who was inside a full-sized flatbed tow truck with a passenger in the truck. The officer approached Otto and ordered that he exit the truck. Otto refused and the officer attempted to remove him from the truck at which time Otto immediately started the vehicle and suddenly drove off at a high rate of speed while the officer was clinging to Otto and the driver’s side window. Otto drove the truck for several blocks as the officer clung to the side of the truck. The officer gave several commands to Otto to stop the truck, even informing Otto that if he did not stop, he would shoot. Otto continued to refuse these commands multiple times. At this time, the officer discharged his firearm subsequently striking Otto, and finally stopping the truck. Otto, sustained fatal injuries. The passenger was not physically injured by the gunfire but was transported for medical treatment out of an abundance of caution. The officer that discharged his firearm is a 46-year-old male with over 21 years of service. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. He was placed on administrative duty as is routine in officer involved shootings.

  2. Seeing how brave and how hard these officers work every day to keep the public safe, makes me want to kick the teeth in of these scumbags who always carry on about defunding the police! 🤬🤬. Tell that crap to the many victims that had their lives saved by these heroes!

  3. Adrenaline makes you do weird things, so I can't blame him, but the cop didn't even fire until the guy slowed down and they were coming to a rolling stop already…

  4. I hope SHE was charged. You keep company with this kind of man then you need to take the consequences. The AH is driving fast as and she's like "Get off the car". Well lady why don't YOU jump out of the car and see why that officer is hanging on for life. Both are POS.

  5. im actually shocked he didnt pull out his firearm earlier. certainly gave that man PLENTY of time to live through this but he had already made his choice

  6. Prop's to the Officer in Blue – – Crazy being So Patient in that Situation – – the Guy was going to Terminate Himself, the Officer, the Passenger & perhaps some innocent person(s) – – God Speed to the Officer . . .

  7. Shooting was justified for sure cause like I would have done the same thing even if he would have stop right there and let me down ima still shoot him case he gave him multiple times to stop tue car could’ve killed em
