A New Mexico judge officially dismissed Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter charge with prejudice on Friday. The famed actor burst into tears when Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer announced her decision. The prosecution withheld critical evidence that helped shed light on how live ammunition made it on the set of Baldwin’s movie “Rust” before the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down why the judge tossed the case mid-trial.

20 thoughts on “Why Judge Threw Out Alec Baldwin’s Manslaughter Case Mid-Trial”
  1. I've said it before, there's something very off about Seth Kenney in this situation. He tried way to hard to point the blame at Hannah from the very beginning and he is on tape trying to manipulate witnesses and investigators in an attempt to shift blame. They should 100% reopen Hannah's case near to be sure this doesn't affect what she was charged with.

  2. Terribly sad situation but I don't think it ever should've gone to court. Pretty firm in that belief now too especially with the prosecution's case ending this way, they were willfully negligent because they knew it was weak on its own merit and had to resort to this to have a shot at it. Baldwin is just as much a victim in this, albeit not to the extent of the deceased but what are we saying, if I'm held at gunpoint and told to hand over the money of my employer I'm then liable for theft? That's not the kind of world we should want to live in.

  3. this channel is nonsense and if you really a law channel you should explain why judge is wrong and why hannah reed was convicted using the same evidence rather than giving some corrupt judge a platform because aint no explanation as to why it was dismissed when somebody was actually convicted with the evidence

  4. This should've never been a case for him. Not bcuz of who he is, I'm not too fond of him, but bcuz it was not his fault. We don't double check our regular life. And obviously live ammo should not have been there.

  5. Prosecutor Johnson resigned in the middle of Seth Kenny's testimony. His witness statements added uncertainty. The new bullet evidence should have been disclosed. Not buried to gain advantage in court.

  6. Who was holding the gun? Alec Baldwin. Who should have checked the weapon to see that it had the proper loads? Alec Baldwin. Who pulled the trigger? Alec Baldwin. Who is responsible for the death of the victim? Alec Baldwin. All of the questions raised have to do with Alec Baldwin's responsibility which he neglected. So, who do YOU think is guilty?
