Triple tragedy: Mother, boyfriend, and teen found dead in burning home (Part 3)

Fifty-three-year-old Vicki Friedli, her 55-year-old boyfriend Jon Hayward, and Vicki’s 18-year-old daughter, Becky Friedli were found dead in their burning home. Vicki and Jon had been gunned down. Becky, who investigators suspect was the intentional target, was discovered deceased and on fire in a wheelbarrow. Her body was so badly burned that her cause of death could not be determined. Over a decade later, Becky’s family finally got justice when her ex, Robert Pape, and his best friend, Cristin Smith, were convicted of murder.

    Thank you for following up on this horrific crime! I remember seeing one of the murderer's mother screaming out that her son wasn't a murderer. He was a hero. No one ever said what he did to become a hero, but if it included killing people, he had a cold-blooded edge. I hope the father of the victim feels his daughter received justice. What a wicked, heartbreaking murder!

    Imagine being called to join a team of detectives sent along with one who is a pathogist too into a close to downtown neighborhood to do that sort of thing for the first time. Would you feel like wearing a mouth teeth guard like boxers do in Canada too if only under the impression prior that neighborhood is a predominantly black neighborhood or not just in case?
