Suspect arrested 12 years after teen was gunned down while on his way to do homework

Sixteen-year-old Bryan Herrera was shot and killed while biking to his friend’s house to do homework. His family searched for answers for years, but no one came forward — until recently. Prosecutors arrested and charged Adrian Grimes, who also goes by “Peanut” and “Nut,” with murder. They will be seeking the death penalty against him.

    The friend whom Bryan was trying to visit to do homework with was me. Bryan and I were best friends. Around the end of December of 2012 back in high school, we were assigned homework winter packets by our teachers. Bryan and I had planned to do them together to finish them as soon as possible so that we can enjoy the rest of the winter break to ourselves and hang out more often along with some other good friends. It was on a Saturday when I was waiting for him to arrive and he never answered my calls nor made it which I found very strange. That night, I got a call from a friend telling me he’s been shot and I couldn’t believe it. I told my dad and asked him to take me to Bryan’s house asap so I could confirm for myself. Upon arrival, his family confirmed to me what happened and all of us cried. Bryan’s untimely passing left a hole in many people’s hearts. He had a lot of friends whom to this day still miss him. If I recall correctly, around 2019 was the last time I seen Bryan’s parents. I was with 2 friends visiting Bryan’s grave and just before we left, his parents showed up and we had a nice chat. Who would’ve thought that in a couple of years from then that Justice would finally be served. Finally at last. May you finally rest in peace, Bryan. I still miss you, man.

    Some other inmate says that this guy did it after 12 years of silence. First, did he know Adrian Grimes back then? Otherwise, how can he identify someone he saw briefly 12 years ago? What's in it for this "witness?" A deal? Don't assume that this case is closed.

    Finally JUSTICE for Bryan, whose life was taken by this monster and coward 12 years ago . Bryan Rest in Eternal Peace sweet angel 😇 🙏 ❤️ 🦋. Strength and peace to his family that never stopped for fighting for justice and my deepest condolences 🙏❤️🦋
