Snowboarder hitchhikes to Wyoming for a birthday trip but never makes it there alive

Ben Bradley disappeared while hitchhiking to Wyoming for a snowboarding birthday celebration. Months later, a man named Tommy Bowman found Ben’s backpack. Then, tourists discovered Ben’s remains in a remote area with signs of blunt force trauma. Despite the investigation and two possible leads, the case remains unsolved, and Ben’s family is still searching for answers nearly 20 years later.

  1. Another sad case of a young life lost too soon 😔. It's heartbreaking that Ben's family is still searching for answers after all these years. We cover similar short true crime stories on our page!

  2. This reminds me of Jason Jolkowski's case from 2001. He vanished in the middle of the day on his way to work and is presumed deceased. He's never been found. He was really tall just like Ben.

  3. Eric detailed the murder and implicated himself and they couldn’t even get him. Even after his testimony collaborated the evidence no one else knew? So frustrating they couldn’t charge him at least.

  4. Ben probably thought that as a large 6' 5" man he could handle any situation that came up. Unfortunately there are people with evil intent who prey upon hitchhikers.

  5. hitchhiking to go snowboarding in the first place is problematic..perhaps his family could have told him not to in the first place and he might have been still alive..its a little late now..I used to hitch 45 years ago..thats long gone decades ago
