  1. UPDATE: Two years ago I posted body cam footage submitted by Janet, of Union County, Illinois, showing her son, who suffered from meth-induced mental illness, being tased by police officers. Imagine parents calling 911 for an ambulance, and instead, police officers, aware that they have a warrant for the son, show up instead, and without an ambulance. Instead of medical treatment, they use force. I just found out that the officer resigned and the civil lawsuit settled.

  2. From what I have seen, it's really no wonder why he would flee from the sight of cops! And what about these cops just opening doors and entering?
It's very disturbing to see cops arrive when you call for medical assistance… All too often we need medical assistance because of cops! And how many times have we seen cops come and end up needing a hearse?
But I would add that how the caller articulated the call for service was lacking…

  3. The police officer's statement says that he raised and fired the taser. This suggests that he already had the taser in his hand when he approached the suspect. The suspect was unaware that there was a warrant out for him, he saw a big police officer pointing a taser at him walking towards him, he had every reason to run.
Drawing a taser or a handgun or placing a hand on a holstered handgun is a threat to use force and therefore a use of force.
A paramedic would have approached this patient asking if he felt alright and urging him to come with them to the ambulance to teh hospital where he could be helped. The police could have visited him in hospital once his condition was stabilized. There is a difference in approach.
The senior officer that approved replacing the sunglasses needs to retire, there is no place for him in public service!

  4. I blame
    1. the lawmakers for using such upside-down backwards ye olde english type of phrases
    2. the police officers for not being able to read and understand aforementioned law
    3. the dispacher, for doing what he wanted, when the request was for an ambulance
    4. the taser

  5. It's just a pity there's no human rights in that country! Cops are free to do as they please with no accountability. The citizens pick up the bill.

  6. Seems the LAST thing we should ever do is call 911. If you can safely handle a situation, do it. If you can drive to a hospital, do it. Lastly, if ABSOLUTELY necessary, then call 911… but be prepared for the consequences

  7. Did you ever notice how winded all these cops are after very little physical work or any type of real physical altercation?

Its consistent on all the videos I watch of these type situations. They really need to lay off the donuts and get some exercise…..

  8. I can not believe that a sheriff could allow this to happen. I hope his oposition in the next election cycle and has retained all videos and plays them to remind the citizens of the sitting sheriff's in action.

  9. Ok I am by no means qualified as a medic or police.
But would it not have been best according to the info the dispatcher got , to send medics AND police?
you know. medics for the first response and police as backup if things get out of hand?

Yes they did have a warrant for his arrest but that can be handled later when he has stabilized.

  10. All weapons that are supposed to be non-lethal can be misused. Dogs, batons, tasers, fire arms, Active Denial System. The police officer was looking for any reason to use his stun gun. He was obviously ready and planned to stun the victim. Last resort weapons are not for first response without a valid reason. What is the reason here? There was none.

  11. I'l bet you they fabricated the warrent after the incident. It's more likely they listened to the radio chatter from teh ambulence service and licked their chops thinking about all the shit they were about to stir. Unbeleivable,, deliberately showing up to a mental health crisis and immediately escalating to a taser in the back. They ain't gunna stop doing this until cops start receiving some street justice.

  12. I find it funny how this cop has the audacity to ask for compensation for his stupid ass glasses when there's always innocent people getting their cars totalled bcuz of high speed chases and they don't pay them people for the damage they cause to their vehicles
