  1. I've had many horses. It doesn't matter one little bit that the 2-legged officer has only 3 months in mounted. The 4-legged officer has many years of experience. He will bring the newbie along nicely. There is an old saying in horse circles. An experienced rider for a new horse and an experienced horse for a new rider. God Bless you both, and be careful,

  2. Depressing for the horses.
They stay in boring stalls, they go work, then they go back to the stalls.
All the turn out they get is a few minutes in an empty arena with no stimulation.

I will never, ever subject my horses to a life like that. And I’ll never own a horse in an area that doesn’t have at least a decent turn out for my horses to be normal horses.

  3. In modern law enforcement that would be Archer Spaniard..and they are always peaceful but keep order..yep I don’t know anyone else and wouldn’t claim to be connected by lineage. Former source Monique Archey

  4. 30 million dollars, what a waste of resources for 60 officers. I think long beach or Crenshaw or other districts could use a fragment of those resources way better.

  5. Great respect for work and mission for the safety of serving horses in the police 💚🐴.The help of horses working in the services is undoubtedly very important 🕊️
    Always good luck from 🇵🇱

  6. When i was a kid, I remember going to my first Wisconsin Badger Football game. I went with my dad a cop, and my Uncle Johnny, also a cop and I'm sorry but I love telling people this, especially now, my Uncle Johnny was one of, if not the first black State Trooper in Wisconsin. My dad and I are white. I dont remember much of the game but I do remember meeting the mounted unit working the crowd.

  7. Ok but like wats the point of using a big horse in the city? Wat if a car strikes it? And that bit looks absolutely terrifying and painful wtf? These are animals let them live! I’m not gonna lie I would love to see this stable and maybe ride one of these horses one day, but they’re supposed to run free or in a stable near the countryside and have trail rides!
Who else noticed that horse sticking out his tongue cuz of that bit! It’s literally pulling on its mouth
But that’s my opinion I just feel like this isn’t the environment they should be in when New York has millions of ppl in its cities.

  8. A lot of people doesn’t understand that this is horse abuse. Horses are scared easly and are very nervous around big group of people. Doing this in a bog sity is traumatic to them and I’m sure they are poorly treated in the stals. A lot of people think this is cool while this is just animal abuse

  9. I have a 30 year old dressage horse and I am intermediate level in dressage and all I want to do when I am older is help people and ride horses. This would be perfect 🙂

  10. a cop on a horse can be seen 2 blocks away. It's good though because it let's everyone know that there is a cop and that alone deters crime from happening in the first place. times square would be a scary place without the presense of police.

i drive by times square all the time and I see these horses. there freaking huge . definitely a head Turner and pretty awesome to see especially when the only wild life you see are birds, dogs, cats and unfortunately a rat lol ( that is of course your a new Yorker)
