Marbella Martinez, 25, who started her job as a corrections officer six months ago, was found strangled inside the Utah home she shared with her father. Hector Ramon Martinez-Ayala was immediately named as a person of interest. Investigators discovered he had fled the country, but murder charges were still filed against him in Salt Lake County. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber spoke with Corporal Colbey Bentley of the Tooele Police Department about the crime and the suspect’s scheme to use his twin brother’s identity to escape.

  1. Some people are evil to the core and the fact that he was stalking her makes me wonder what her childhood was like around the creep 🤢.

  2. Dad is a freak. And I don’t think his daughter was the only person he was sexually obsessed with. I’m willing to bet there are a couple of guys also.

  3. I don’t know if I missed a part of this conversation that contains what I’m about to ask? But I’m just wondering, if they know he used his twin brothers identity and flew out of Houston, Texas to another country. Why have they not mentioned what country his final flight (if there was connecting flights in between) landed in?? They’re asking pretty much the whole world to be on the lookout for this POS, but I’m just saying wouldn’t it be easier for hopefully a timely and successful capture if people knew where his final destination was?? Or as I said, was it mentioned and I missed that part of the conversation??

  4. OMG I know this isn't relevant to the horrendous facts in this case, but THANK YOU for learning how to pronounce our city of TOOELE correctly! 👍
There's far more to this case than meets the eye. There's no doubt in my mind that Bella was SA'd and controlled by him for most of her life and he went into a jealous rage for reasons only he knows. He's being protected by family members both here in Utah and in Mexico and/or South America. I hope they find him and deal with him severely!

  5. He'd probably been grooming Bella from an early age to be his wife so in his perverted mind, his daughter was cheating on him by getting a boyfriend.

  6. I wonder if she joined the sheriff’s dept as a way of building strength/power to stand up against a lifelong abuser?

  7. He sounds like Joe from "YOU". 🤪
When fathers are like this its mainly because the daughter is becoming more like the mom.
But when I look at the victim all I see is himself. She could look like his mother. 😢
