Mom vanishes after making plea for help from a payphone

Early one morning, Marissa Carmichael made a mysterious 911 call from a gas station payphone, reporting that she didn’t know where she was and that someone had fled with her phone. A man’s voice is heard on the call offering Marissa a ride home. That call to police would be the last time anyone heard from the mom of five, and years later, her family is begging for answers.

  1. 25 with 5 kids. That alone shows she makes bad decisions. leaving the car without her phone, getting in cars with strangers. 🤦🏽‍♀️ my goodness couldn’t wait for the cops????

  2. Black women usually try to stay calm to escape. So they think that we can handle ourselves and are not in distress. Police have no empathy or urgency to help us. Happened to me with a stranger knife attack me at a gas station ⛽️ because I refused to give him my phone number. HPD didn’t arrive for hours.

  3. How come she couldn't call them to help???
Wow family ALWAYS seems to care after the fact
They aka the police don't feel her life is worth investigating that's just ridiculous

  4. The pain in this story is unimaginable. 😢
Marissa, a loving mother of five, vanished after a night out. Her desperate 911 call, asking for help and not knowing where she was, haunts the heart.
Her family’s endless search, hoping for answers, is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly everything can change. 💔

  5. It sounds like she was either drugged or she had been drinking and was disoriented. Regardless never ever accept a ride from a stranger when you don’t know where you are. Wait inside a public place until you figure it out.

  6. Smh . Things happen for a reason. Life choices. You with a man who left u took ya phone. Then u took a ride with a stranger. Not to mention went to an after hours spot with multiple children at home. Temptation is a mf . R I.P

  7. I pray the hands of the enemy be loose off this woman and she be brought back home asap. Angels of God free her in the mighty name of Jesus. God I trust you with your creation I trust you with your daughter I trust you to answer my prayers.

  8. This is so heartbreaking, but everything isnt always what it seems, after the call got disconnected the person who initially put her out of the car could've came back & kept her from getting into the car w/the person that was trying to help, u just never know with these types of situations. I pray she is found.

  9. This is so sad how can someone just take you away from everything you know. Her children now are with out their mom, to the person that took her you have a mom , sister, cousin , grandmother. I hope they find her and the person or people that took her, Lock them up and throw way the key.

  10. Where is the camera footage from the payphone at the Exxon? The public should see that footage and try to identify who is that person who gave her a ride.
