Audrey Barattiero, a friend of Lori Vallow Daybell, testified in court Wednesday. She claimed the “doomsday cult” mom often talked about spiritual things she didn’t always agree with, such as “light and dark spirits” and “zombies.” Barattiero testified that Lori wanted to get a spirit out of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow. He was later shot and killed by Lori’s brother in a case that was classified as “self defense.” Lori is on trial for the murders of two of her kids, as well as for the murder of her fifth husband’s late wife.

Funny how people who remember past lives are almost always well known figure. Someone claiming to know who they were in past lives, in a way that conveys prestige upon them in this incarnation, is such an obvious red flag for a grifter that you have to wonder about the incredible gullibility of these people surrounding them. Light and Dark are simple labels. They were such transparent & unstable manipulators and liars, it's a wonder everyone didnt see it. People often see only what they want to. This lady and Melanie followed them until the kids turned–up missing and she was already avoiding authorities. She sounds like she didnt want to be there, yet went all the way to HI bc they asked her to, then went back to Idaho "bc Melanie cant be alone" (its like theyre all infantilized) yet stayed at Lori's.

If it's true that Lori laughed and rolled her eyes during Audrey's testimony, it would only make me believe Audrey's testimony more if I were a juror. First, because the mocking laughter is exactly what Audrey said Lori did when threatening her. And second because when you're accused of doing something you didn't do, and it comes out of nowhere, your first reaction isn't going to be laughter and annoyance, it's going to be shock and anger. As a juror I would expect to see a dropped jaw and narrowed eyed from Lori. A look of "you've got to be kidding me!!". Maybe even her head shaking no. Basically incredulity that the person would make up something so asinine. So Lori reaction to that is VERY telling.
It appesrs to me that vigour and conviction of belief was strongest behind closed doors for these people. I suppose when its broken down the crap they really thought and felt, they can just about catch their breath to speak their truth.

I think Lori definitely threatened her, but I also think she was more involved than she’s letting on. When she’s saying she didn’t want to be there in Hawaii and then went to a whole other state with them… something just doesn’t ring true. I think she is practicing some major cya. (That being said, I’m inherently mistrustful of people who constantly say they are a caring person, or a good person. If you were, you wouldn’t need to convince people all the time.)
