I wish more judges would reject these plea deals, especially when it involved the murder of a child or if the prosecutor wants a plea deal when the evidence overwhelmingly shows the defendant's guilt! Many of these prosecutors are lazy and want to move on to the next case.
Another that angers me is a cold case. The family waits 20 or more years, only for the prosecutor to sit down and accept a plea deal, despite the evidence proving he committed the evidence. Why bother working on cold cases if you are going to give the killer a slap on the wrist?
i ran over a cyclist when i was drunk here in my native land sweden…. so i told my friend on the passenger to get out and check if the cyclist was ok, he was ok but just on the floor with some bruises…..swearing so my friend took the driving wheel as he wasnt drinking and moved me to passenger seat……….the police eventually stopped me, and i said yeah it was me and i been drinking………but as my friend was driving he was arrested and even the cyclist said it was him driving during the incident…….so yeah my friend is in jail..,.apprantly im known as a liar to law enforcement so my statements wasnt taken serious. oh well. it is what it is
I’m just going to say, give her a fair trial. That wasn’t a fair trial. Thanks, Josh!
Amazing show as usual!❤
I am curious off how these play out.
Thanks
My heart goes out to the victims and their families. No one deserves to suffer such unimaginable pain and loss. May justice be served, and may they rest in peace. 💔
The judge is so concerned about the defense doing shady stuff but isn’t worried about the LE’s investigation or the prosecution’s shady stuff that is a lot more than just one thing!! Karen Reed deserves a fair trial which wasn’t the case in the first trial & it looks like that is going to be the case in the next trial!! The video of her vehicle being brought to & inside the sally port & Higgins on the phone is a huge deal!! The defense still hasn’t gotten the full video!! The entire investigation & the first trial is a complete sham!! I thought Brennan would make a difference in a fair trial but that is not what I’m seeing!!!
I’m not a lawyer, just a true crime fan, but I’m happy the judge rejected the plea deal, 12 years isn’t enough time
The only problem with Arcca is that the testimony wasn't necessary at all. Anyone with a brain can see that Officer John O'Keefe's injuries were not caused by a vehicle. This is probably called common sense. This whole accusation is so disgusting and everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.
The other two cases you spoke of are absolutely wild Josh. I'd no idea a judge could intervene this way in plea agreements. I could maybe see that happen mid trial, but not before a case properly begins. The last case is quite unbelievable, stabbing two spouses to death. Wow. You have to wonder why (especially) a woman would ever get involved with a convicted mrdr in the first place. She can only run for so long before being apprehended unless she has millions of dollars in cash, which I doubt. Thank you for bringing these to our attention. Also, it was great to hear you speak about Alan Jackson's professionalism and character. It was evident to us, albeit, lay people that he is an incredibly accomplished and articulate trial lawyer, but it's lovely to hear from another professional who has worked both sides of the courtroom that we were correct.
I've never seen a judge so biased and prepaeed to allow outright lies and fabrications from prosecutors than Beverley Cannone. She has disgraced herself throughout this case. Yesterday's filing from the defence is dynamite. All her protestations of 'grave concerns' and shaking last week showed the world just how deep she is and how far she is prepared to go in order to have imho an innocent woman imprisoned.
i would love for them to not have the judge choose the foreman which is unheard of and then i hear rumors on how this foreman refused the other jurors do/ask any karen is innocent leaning things
Just need to refresh your brains… PROCTOR. Also, now the stuff the commonwealth is up to right now is crazy, i cant understand how judge cannoni can just outwardly seem bias, at least try to hide it. smh
