Bodycam footage shows an irate man threatening to kill a cop before he was fatally shot in January. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said 50-year-old Christopher Lee Mercurio allegedly attacked the responding officer when she tried to de-escalate the situation, which led to the deadly shooting. Fear… She panic and reached for her gun first… and never thought to use the taser or go step back from him and give him some rome until she could atleast swap the weapon because he already said he just want to be left alone… She calls and says shots fired …now I'm not a cop and know very little but why did she say shots fired because it sounds like a gunfight but not like she was the ONLY one who shot… 1st half had no sound..ok, there is noone there but them two..ok, he had no gun..ok, the shots fired kinda like misinfo until the other cop ask if he had a gun…ok if you read this and feel different I get that… but the HEARTLESS people in the comments is waaay beyond me…. yeah I get she kinda was doing her job but she missed some steps that probably could have not involve the death of this man…. so I feel sorry for her but nowhere near as sad this man had to die because she was in a state of panic.. I know it’s not a popular discussion but this is why women officers of small stature create a safety hazard on the street.
Had this been a man of average height and build, he would’ve easily been able to deescalate the situation without deadly force to an unarmed civilian who appeared to have a mile run time of about 15 mins.
What are the requirements to be a cop? A cellphone and unstable mind? Must be ptsd before hire? Compulsive? Cloudminded?…. If so she qualifies….

She did the right thing given the situation. Where is her backup? Dispatch should have been on top of the situation and not wait to see what happens! Being an officer your life depends on the dispatcher!
