Interrogation of the Woman Who Stabbed Her Foster Mother 200 Times

Sabrina Zunich was the foster daughter of Kevin and Lisa Knoefel. Sabrina Zunich was the daughter of a couple that struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and spent years in and out of the foster system. In 2011, Zunich began to believe that her foster mother Sabrina gave the other two daughters preferential treatment and began to fight often. On November 16, 2012, police received a 911 call from one of the sisters. In the call, she was screaming that Zunich was murdering Lisa. Police arrived on the scene and found Zunich drenched in blood and holding a 15-inch kitchen knife that was used to stab Lisa nearly 200 times. Zunich later claims she had a sexual relationship with the father Kevin and that he coerced her to kill Lisa. In August 2014, Sabrina Zunich pleaded guilty to aggravated murder. She was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years. Kevin Knoefel was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated murder and complicity to aggravated murder, as well as six counts of sexual battery.     She is clearly a psychopath and capable of lying. There was no direct evidence at all of an affair with the foster father and no connection between them you could detect after the murder. The idea he would choose the knife is beyond credible. The fact that a psychopath is believable by so many is another disturbing element.

    She didn't have a story immediately. She didn't remember. Then she formulated this story. Psychopaths and borderlines are known for abandonment issues, violence, lying and blame shifting.

    A detached calm often follows after an overwhelming, dissociative emotional release. That she did not remember may have been partly true, but more so due to needing to suppress that memory, as recalling it would likely involve a level of re-experiencing the trauma. At least until they confront her with the reality of the crime, which she continues to resist re-experiencing. Besides wanting to protect herself in the aftermath by continuing to deny what she may have known just as well to be true.

    Dissociative states cause us to experience events differently, and so they are remembered differently from other memories as well…

    I know that I am going to get a lot of back lashes for this, but I have to say it, I am sorry from the bottom of my heart for what happened to Lisa and that Megan had to see this happen, my heart aches for them and their family. I personally know Sabrina and even though a lot of you don't see her as a victim she was I am not going to put all of her business and past experiences in this post, but this girl seen and lived through more by the time she was 12 then most of us ever live through in a lifetime. The abuse that she endured physically, mentally, and sexually was horrible. Now by no means do I feel like that should have got her a free pass but maybe some empathy. She knew what she did and never ever said she don't belong where she is but to be labeled as a monster is not fair. Kevin groomed her to be that monster and her mental instability helped her in following this man's word. He is the monster in this story and deserves to be where he is the rest of his life. I believe when she becomes eligible for parole in 2042, she should get another chance. I believe she is capable of being reformed and becoming a productive woman in society. Again, I am by no means trying to say she is innocent she isn't and even she knows this, but the media turned her into something she isn't and that's not fair either.

    The fact that she was even offered a deal is ridiculous I don't believe a word of it and who wouldn't throw somebody else under the bus in return for a release date when facing life without parole for a premeditated murder….

    What the officers don't tell you is anything that you say during the interrogation can't be used to help you prove your innocence so there's no point on talking to the cops once they read you your rights! They try to make it seem like if you talked to us and explain everything that you may go home but at the end of the day you had no chance of going home at all from the paint you are read your rites and your chances of leaving is even Slimmer if you start talking they also try to make it like you're not cooperating if you invoke your rights to stay silent Very manipulative tactic that's used on a regular basis against children adults seniors and people with intellectual disabilities and delays….

    I havent started watching yet but just bynthe title alone – two HUNDRED times?! How is that even possible firstly, how long would that even take? And how did they count that many wounds? You'd think by like 50 they'd all just start to blend together to make one huge wound.. thats such a horrible thought, but like realistically, thats how it'd be right?

    Not going to lie but this is hard to watch: I don’t know how these detectives keep thier composure they’ve got some patience because I’d feel like she’s testing his intelligence 🤦🏼‍♀️ just stop the lies already sis it’s over

    I cannot wait for the day i see an interrogation where someone will say "ok, i want my lawyer now before answering any questions" and not fall for the act of
    listen to them read the miranda rights and fall for the
    "so tell us what happen", immediately AFTER reading the miranda rights.
    cops are slick

    It's a sad truth but we gotta face it – Sab grew up with her inept parents Both of whome were junkie n alcoholic persons…they not only destroyed her youth but also left her many bad habits incl lie n 'belligerent', these have been irreversible.
    All in all this true story reflects all kinds of massive social problems across US especially drug abusive, somebody gotta hold those senators, congressmen, governors accountable, stop them from pass bills for waging wars against this or that, instead they should back to work, focus their attention on domestic issues.
    A butterfly effect let to a vicious circle –
    Politicians failed -＞society got problems -＞families got problems – ＞politicians ignore them -＞society can't heal – more problems ignored.
