‘Guilty Conscience’: Alex Murdaugh’s Lies to Police Detailed by Prosecutor

Alex Murdaugh was caught telling numerous lies to police during interviews following the murders of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, in June 2021. “Guilty conscience,” prosecutor Creighton Waters announced before summing up all the lies the disgraced lawyer told investigators, many of which Murdaugh admitted to while on the stand.

  1. I just can’t understand how Alex made over a million dollars a year and was still in financial trouble. I make about 1/6 of that and haven’t been financially stressed in quite some time. Sure you can create financial stress but when you make over $100k or $200k+ a year (in the right city/state) you can live a VERY comfortable lifestyle. And what’s worse is that he was stealing millions and millions on top of that and also had years where he made $3 to $5 million. So making probably well over $10 million in twenty years!!! Who here in the comments can say that they have made $10 million. A VERY, VERY seldom few, if any. That’s enough money to live an entire life or even a couple lives. Just absolutely boggles my mind.

  2. So is it suspected that he wore the blue jacket when he killed them to protect his clothes? Or did he get washed and changed after? I wonder if they ever found the clothes he had on in the Snapchat video….

  3. That’s his lawyer, advising him in the car? Not very good – allowing Alex to talk to the police – seeing as what he said was ultimately used against him.

  4. The defense kept trying to portray Alex as a loving man, loving husband, loving father…well we saw a loving man, loving husband, loving father in Chris Watts & we all know what happened there! 🙄
Earlier pics & videos do not prove that they could turn at any moment! It was so convenient that he happened to be gone in that short period of time when 2 brutal murders happened on his property & he knew nothing! So convenient this avid gun loving family were so careless with their guns! Being a well known attorney, he sure was lax on his own family…leaving loaded guns all about, in unlocked vehicles & even just lost! If you believe that…shame on that family, it was accidents waiting to happen & lawsuit around the corner! 🙄

  5. A brilliant prosecutor…it is so obvious. I hope justice will be served for the 2 victims. In any case, he will be behind bars for years because of all of the other crimes.

  6. It's as if both Paul and Maggie were aware that they will be killed that night. Maggie told her sister about Alex wanting her to visit Moselle that night. Her sister has been Maggie's voice in this trial by sharing that info with the Jury and the court. Same as Paul, he took that video for his friend. In the end, when his father silenced him forever, that video spoke on his behalf.

Well done to the prosecuting team!! The defendant is guilty as charged.

  7. He had a pocket full of pills because when he was messing with Paul and Pauls phone fell out he found the pills Paul had confiscated from him.Thats what he was fussing around for.

  8. Another voice could have been the killer, AM should have said that, was not me must have been the killer…but he did not…cause he knew it was himself and that he was the killer…

  9. Can anyone read lips? I wonder what A.M. is saying to his lawyer. I still say he committed the murders in the buff, sitting in the golf cart while he shot them & washed up at the kennels afterward.
