  1. This could have drastically changed the course of this young man’s life. He’s currently a Defensive Back on the Carolina Tarheels football team. Salute to him.

  2. It was definitely racial motivated. He was just a kid at his house in a nice suburb of FV. But since he was black, he was treated like a criminal instead of a kid in front of his house in a nice neighborhood in FV.

  3. How about you start announcing what play you gonna use. Also if it’s gonna be a pass or a run! That would be just great !

  4. I really see no problem with the first or supervising officers’ actions. ATA suggests that running the VIN wa required in order to justify the detainment and that the testimony of the original owner was “hearsay.” No, it isn’t hearsay. The original owner saw the bike, person currently in possession, and vin. That testimony is direct eye witness testimony, not hearsay.
The officer placed the kid in cuffs while the officers investigated. The bike was confirmed stolen and the kids story was deemed reasonable. They didn’t disrespect the kid or treat him poorly.
The supervisor showed up and suggested that cuffs weren’t needed and they removed the cuffs. Nobody did anything wrong here…except the kid for not checking the VIN. Which the supervising officer admitted he’s made the mistake as well. It was reasonable to place the kid in cuffs and it was reasonable to release him from cuffs given the presence of his father and the Bill of Sale.
Of course the race card gets played by the family. Of course. There’s no greater currency in today’s world than being able to claim you’re a victim…
And F for the first officer is a ridiculous grade. I am almost entirely on board with the ATA’s grades…not in this case.

  5. The mayor called for the community "to move forward….the officers actions were standard procedure…" In other words nothing to see here move along….Should have graded the mayor a solid F….

  6. IMO: It should be blanket policy that an "officer in training" should not be allowed to arrest or detain without the consent of there training officer. OIT's are expected to make mistakes, Hence the "training officer". Those mistakes should never effect the public.

  7. This wasn’t racism, which absolutely exists.

This was a young officer that’s needs more and better training. The cop wasn’t overly aggressive just under trained.

  8. 9:03 the little pause after he was asked why the kid was detained. He knew he was about to get educated by his fellow officer. Good man.

  9. If he was still under training why was he out running calls by himself. He should have been shadowing someone who knows what the hell they are doing

  10. Good job not grading the kid. I got two felonies before i was 18 and one was deserved. The other was forced on me through scaring the crap out of me. When we are young we don't know that much about the law and some law enforcement dont care. They take advantage of it. I'm not saying all will but they are dirty sometimes.

  11. I hate how some people have to bring race into everything. Yeah, this cop was dumb, but there's no reason to believe the kid's race had anything to do with it. And the kid wasn't harmed in any way. He sat in the back of a car for 10 minutes. Through this entire video, I was thinking to myself "I really hope his parents don't start claiming racism for no reason"… and then that's exactly what happened. Disappointing.

I guess people ignore the thousands of incidents where cops do the same shit to white people. 🤷‍♂

  12. They held a press conference??? The kid walked free? The officers corrected the rookie and made the correct decision. How the fuck does that have anything to do with race?

  13. both the officer and the kid were respectfull.. i still dont see whats the harm in making sure everything is fine.. no one got hurth couse he got detained.. i really dont get USA.. seems like everyone there is way to entitled..they want safety without fiving up an inch of their freedom..you cant have that in reality and you never will have it

  14. Was obviously motivated by race. Illegal detainment because a kid bought a stolen bike without knowing it. Then grasped at straws to find something.

  15. I mean, he was still in training and he didn't really escalate the situation at all especially after speaking with the other cop

  16. wait so this is an officer training and learning? surely this isn't a bad officer but more an inexperienced one being educated by an experienced officer isn't it?

  17. It's ridiculous that they need to be more cautious arresting children than adults they should be sure they are right when dealing with anyone not just children our law system has been broke for so long

  18. to me, this cop saw that the kid was black and immediately thought he had stolen it or received stolen goods not that the poor kid had been ripped off by the seller who sold him a stolen bike which he had stolen and why would he put it up for sale if it was stolen and knew it was he wouldn't plus he has a bill of sale which proves his innocents if the cop had asked to produce the bill of sale all of this would have been averted and no one arrested and ask the kids to describe the seller and any info they could give them about the seller that's what a good cop should have done and thanked the kid for his cooperation thank god for good cops who are properly trained and not discriminative against colour here in the UK for the most part we do have well trained officers who do an amazing job under such hard conditions and only have pepper spray and a night stick to protect them so they have to use there intelligence to talk criminals down yes we have armed officers now who hold tazzes and hand guns and machine guns who are being use so much more as we have knife crime here in the UK and gun crime in the cities like Manchester where there are kids running around with hand guns in the past there where no go areas for unarmed officers to go as drugs where king but now its mostly been stamped out, but the laws is getting so strict in the use of fire arms a lot of officers are turning there guns in and going back on the streets as just plain cops again one cop was suspended because he tazzer'd a ten year old child which was trying to kill her mother she had already used a hammer on her and injured her because she took her p[hone of her she went to attack her again with a pair of garden shears so the officer tazzer'd her she would not let go of the shears she went again to go and stab the mother as the mother was saying to the cop don't tazzer her which the cop did tazzer her and averted her from being killed or badly injured and the mother reported him for excusive use which is crazy to me he did the right thing the child was unharmed and so was she apart from the hammer attack so after two years suspension he was found Not Guilty which so he should of been straight away it should not of even got to court so he is no longer a armed officer as he turned his profession in and is now just a plain cop again just for doing his duty and i bet there are loads more cases which are the same these do gooders are harming the good cops as they have gone way over board with some of there actions its like when i was at school you never talked back at a teacher you respected them and did as you where told and if you did do wrong you were chastised a whack across the ass or arse as we say and i had a few of them in my time but I deserved every one of them now you get teachers beaten up spat at you name it because the kids can get away with all of it and the ones who hate school paly up so that they get expelled so they don't have to do anything and get treated with kid gloves and treated to days out the system has gone potty and doesn't work there is no respect anymore to anyone and bullying at school is an epidemic proportions more so in the girls section as they can be so cruel that the kids kill themselves and we turn a blind eye the world has gone crazy to me that just the tip of the iceberg
