I was raped on holiday in vegas. I understand the questions that have to be ask. If you said no etc because you will be asked them at court by lawyers. But the way questioning was conducted in the US in comparison to home back in England was night and day. The same questions were asked but polar opposite in tone of voice, how questions were worded and support offered. It does need to be done, but there’s ways about it that can make it better for the victim. Even explaining why you need to ask and reassuring it’s not because you don’t believe them.

Cops that lie, harass the victims, fail to seek justice for rape victims need to be held more accountable.
If a victim is shot and bleeding and points at the suspect still holding the gun (weapon) … and a cop without evidence calls the victim a liar and releases the gunman; without pause or hesitation … society would ask what's that officer's problem.
A rape victim (and case) should be shown the SAME amount of attention and care as an attempted murder case.
In essence that's exactly what it is … (plus the rape)!
