  1. I got scammed in 2016 but it was a supposedly a work from home opportunity. I'm an idiot lol Any time you get a big check sent to your home for free and not even working yet it is a scam. Guess I was desperate for money. And now owe fairwinds 700 and no the bank does not care.

  2. Virtual kidnapping happened to my lil sis…!

We live in California. My younger sister works at a store that is kind of like whole foods.

She gets a call from a number and it is a man on the other end. He asked for her by first name. He then asks her if her older sister is named R… (He said the correct name) My sister it said immediately the guy sounded like he was some type of thug/tuff guy. Anyhow he tells her that my sister got into a car accident and hit his son.

He tells my sister that she hurt his son very bad and he must go to the hospital but my sister is acting very loopy and he thinks that maybe she is drunk or something. My younger sister is confused and starts to freak out. He also says that she was injured in the car accident as well. But because his son has a warrant he can't call the police or ambulance, so he tells her that she must pick up her sister….. As my little sister is freaking out she immediately says "okay where is she I will come get her right now"..

As the man sees that she is sold on this lie, he then tells her that his son is cut pretty bad and because he also doesn't have insurance that he's going have to pay this out of pocket for the emergency room…..

Immediately he says that because it is my older sister's fault and she is also hurt and most likely intoxicated, if my little sister doesn't send him money at least $1,000 he is going to possibly hurt her and toss her out of the car so she learns her lesson….

At this point my little sister is hysterical, she calls my brother right before the guy could say "do not hang up", she gets my brother on the phone tells him what is going on and he starts freaking out as well…Before she could finish her sentence she gets a phone call from the guy. So she answers it again.

The guy then says if she hangs up again he's going to hurt my sister. at this point again my little sister is in tears and almost hyperventilating.

He tells her to go to CVS and to buy a gift card of some sort, and while the whole time your there (he says):to her to "keep the phone on her ear and pretend she's talking to a friend and Every few seconds he asked her to say something random so it looks like she's having a conversation…

As she is waiting in line at CVS with two $500 gift cards in her hand, with obviously a face that is red and looks like it has been crying, and pretty much shaking. She buys these gift cards from the teller at CVS. (What pisses me off is the fact that the CVS employee never questioned her or even knew about certain scams like this which from what I have found out is actually quite common, especially because she's buying these gift cards and you can tell she's been crying and she is distraught. ..The teller then sold her the gift cards.)

Once she walks out of CVS, the guy describes to my sister the type of car that she has. Which is a white BMW. he says I see you at the CVS in your white BMW. he then tells her to go to an address about 5 mi away and she will find her sister in the back of a white Tahoe and she is unconscious and must be taken to the hospital immediately.

But before he gives her the address he tells her to give him the gift card information so he could cash them out. Of course she does. He then gives her an address My sister drives to the location and looks everywhere for the white Tahoe and does not find it. At this point she calls 911 myself and my brother because my sister who she thought was hurt was not answering the phone.

When I was told what happened I immediately thought something was wrong with the situation and I said it's got to be a scam. I called my older sister and she finally answers the phone as if she's having a fun time lol playing with her dogs, by that time the police rolled up to meet my younger sister and as I'm literally asking my older sister if she is okay (with my younger sis in 3 way) you hear the cop in the background telling my younger sister that this has happened recently to a few people in the surrounding area. That it is indeed a scam…!!!

What they do from what I understand, is the were able to pull up her Facebook, find out the name of her sisters and brothers, and what type of car she has. Also finding her phone number was easy too for whatever reason. They then make hundreds of calls doing this exact same scam to people, hoping that they catch someone that is not with their sibling or loved one, and immediately fall into shocked reaction mode like my little sister did.

The CVS employee 100%, knows about scams like these that happen to people via the internet especially (for example)senior citizens being scammed by people in the Philippines and/or India for the fake antivirus tech scam which I'm sure you might have heard of….., and again from what I understand They are supposed to ask especially if they see someone that looks like they're in any type of distress or stressful look when buying gift cards of higher amounts…i6f they are okay, or if they're buying it for any other reason then for themselves or family etcetera etcetera. Of course the police can't do much. But if you ask me I would say 90% of the fault really could have been put on the CVS employee in regards to the money because she obviously was distraught look like she was crying was shaking and freaking out when she bought these cards.

Moral of the story is she should have called me first lol…jk…. I'm just glad, thank God it was all a scam for all it's worth.

  3. Can anyone explain how could it work with moneygram or any money transfer medium ?? Usually these kind of online money transfer need a receiver or a receiver account so its easy for cops to capture the people…. Thats the point which is not connecting the dot.

  4. When I watch a video and Andrea is the narrator or doing the interview I can't watch the video. She gets on my nerves. She makes everything so dramatic. She also says some insensitive things. I'm glad a lot of other viewers dislike Andrea. That's it not just me who dislikes her.

  5. this kind of scam happens a lot in my country, you receive a text saying to turn your phone off for about an hour because they’re fixing something of some sort(some people just ignores it)and then they proceed to call your family saying your kidnapped and it’s a kidnap for ransom so your family panics, tries to call you but wouldn’t be able to contact you because you turned off you phone, so they’ll start to believe it’s true and that’s how you get scammed. There also is this one scam I personally experienced this one, you get a phone call from the “police” saying you’re name is on the list of wanted drug dealers/users and they’ll ask you to call a number and say you’re personal details(address, fullname, phone number) I didn’t buy that scam ‘cause I don’t do drugs anyway why would i be scared lol

  6. what's even worse than andrea isom's voice is that she gets some of the best stories!! most of the time i sadly skip over them but a few cases are too interesting to resist and i have to hear her narration ruining it the whole way through
