Prosecutor John Meadors pressed the jury to convict Alex Murdaugh of murdering his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul. “It’s common sense,” Meadors repeated throughout the intense rebuttal closing arguments while pointing out every reason the jury should believe the disgraced lawyer killed his wife and son. “Thank God for Bubba,” Meadors announced explaining that Murdaugh was caught lying about being with his family at the kennels before they were shot to death.

Alex not looking so smug here…
I love this lawyer, he seems like one of the few honest ones in the area. He admitted he does not sleep much during a case, I can see why, this is a prosecutor determined and committed to his job. He seems to be a man of integrity, feeling, true emotions, not emotions bought by money, but brought about by a true sense of right and wrong.❤
This is not a viable theory of motive. He commits a crime so poorly planned Bubba the dog convicts him. The true motive had to be Maggie's property Alex would inherit, possible insurance on Paul and Maggie, along with avoiding an upcoming divorce that would not only cost , but could expose things that may not be known at the present and may not never be. ❤ For Maggie and Paul.
Thank God for bubba
Ohhh this is what I learned my violent reactions all the time… I learned many violent lessons from social media and in the USA 😂
Didn't the kennel master live on the property? Where was he, that night of the murders?
That prosecutor is coming off like a b movie southern fire and brimstone preacher. He definitely knows he's on "tv".
Alex Didn’t Love Paul and Maggie or he would not have killed them that’s not Love. He cared more about himself Greed Furtune Lover of Money
I don’t think Buster looks shock to me. Got smirk on his face !!
I just don't get it why kill your wife and son at this point what was going on that was coming benefit you is it the drugs?
🎉… but why did he kill his wife and son
Is this guy a Preacher on weekends ?
He did it! BUT definitely had help in one way or another!
For one he didn’t have any time at all to be able to hose his whole body down, hide the gun/s, be able to throw Maggies phone that far etc..
So Many aspects of this case don’t make any sense it hurts my brain 😩
In my opinion the defense screwed up by letting him take the stand. If they did not let him then the argument would have just been between the prosecutor the the Defense. But by letting him take the stand it interposed a third element and jurists take their duty seriously and can smell a liar a mile away.
I was so surprised when I heard this prosecutor say the exact comment I left recently. And it was about how I actually believed Alex loved Maggie and Paul in his own way, he just loved himself more. I'm SO glad this prosecutor said that. Because it really sums up WHO Alex is. And why he was capable of doing something so heinous. In many ways I don't think he wanted to do it, but in order to save himself he did. What a monster.
One of the best closing rebuttals I’ve ever heard. Well rehearsed and coherent. Strictly to the point. The delivery is what makes this compelling.
The deputy sitting directly behind Alex is wearing his feelings ALL OVER HIS FACE!!! 😂😂😂😂 I love it!!! He did it even more so during the sentencing!!! I don’t know him, but he’s my new best friend 😂😂😂
I am just still not sold on him doing it. People get so mad at me for that. I think he had something to do with it though! That's why he lied. When they kept replaying the tape of them claming he said, I did them so bad. It sounded to me as if he said, "they did him so bad." He was in on it with someone else. Which is still not good. But I guess we will never really know what went down.
I just wish Meaders brought up the blue shirt and shoes that went mysteriously missing never to be seen again. That’s as damning as it comes
Wish he would stop yelling.
Some ppl are saying he is innocent because two guns were used. This man is an experienced lawyer committing a premeditated crime. I am sure he thought using two guns would make everyone think he was innocent and it was two ppl. He never factored in that video. How could perpetrators have come in within minutes of him leaving, use his guns to kill his wife and son. Wouldn't perpetrators have their own gun? And why not kill him? Texting her repeatedly and not getting an answer but not stopping by to see if they are ok. Makes no sense
What is the real motive though. What did killing them gain for him?
Just distraction from his debt? That doesn’t make sense
There was no real evidence. Yes he was down there and lied about it. That’s not enough evidence.
His motive for lying could have been he didn’t want them to accuse him of guilt if he was innocent.
Drama Queen
I don’t trust that Buster character either. He’s got shady eyes
Did hemurder them to collect insurance money on their deaths?
That Cop Behind him is Watching him like a Hawk& his doing a Great job…A.M is Guilty, he pretty Much Confessed to the Detectives in the Car" I did him So Bad"- Referring to Paul….AM Admitted in Court, that he Lied To Police, Was he also Lying in Court???
i still have PTSD from the southern lawyer screeching into his microphone
What is he talking about she went to her car to change her rings there was no car down there
There's no reason to kill your wife and son. How was that suppose to save him? How there death saves him?
This was a great day for America now you can be convicted of a crime without any evidence, a couple cell phone calls and some armpit time of death
That video was what finally showed Alex’s Decrepit, lying, heart! How could he shoot the brains out of his own son, Paul, then kill his wife and go on LYING? That much Evil, truly blows😢 my mind!
Then he went into his hysterical crying and still continued lying & acting. His heart is full of dead man’s bones! I keep thinking of Maggie responding to the gun shots and maybe seeing her son having his brains blown out. Did she see that? OMG! What a horrid last view. May Maggie & Paul Rest In Peace. From all that is known, Maggie was a wonderful person and mother. None of Alex Murdaugh’s life makes any sense! LIAR, THEIF, MURDERER, and STILL LYING! GOD, have Mercy on his soul.
Lying to the police is different from killing. I hope he was really guilty because I still don’t understand this.
This as far as I’m concerned sealed it. Powerful!! Love how he explained!!! ❤❤❤
Omg this guy laid out this whole trial in one swoop. He put together this evidence on alex lies an deceit. Paul disclosed his own an his mother's murderer on that video that alex didn't know he did. God moves in mysterious ways without that alex would be free to continue his evil disgraceful Life . R.I.P Maggie an paul 🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧
He did it
AMEN – selfish evil disgusting father and husband – responsible for your own actions – you didn’t teach your boys to be responsible either
Mr Meadors – fantastic!
Evil Alec’s facial body language.
Buster seems to be enjoying Mr Meaders. Buster might seek some meetings with him.
This guy is amazing , l love how he imitates ginger 😅
This was also very good closing. In this case, it was necessary to speak and do exactly this, as the prosecutors have done. Good job.
Bubba's with who? Ja.
This guy is good. I watched some of the trial where he questioned the witnesses and I didn't think he did a really good job but he's good at this.
finally some passion by the prosecution!
