Sloppy, police work once again on why a murder case took 7 yrs too long to solve!
I'm so sorry for her daughters!
Could face life how about the chair
5:36 ..where have i seen her before!? or who look JUST like her !?!? its driving me crazy (one on right side)
How sad. She looked like a sweetheart of a person. My love and prayers for her friends and loved ones.
Cops should have lost jobs over DNA
Seven years!!!!!!! Really Grand Rapids.
From what I've heard, it's due to terrible backlogs. There are cases where serial killers' DNA from rape cases was sitting on shelves for years while they escalated from rape to murder. Now the DNA testing process is faster and there are private companies that use genetic databases to find criminals via their relatives, so hopefully it's getting better. HOPEFULLY.
wow the cops really dropped the ball on this one….
So sad. I hope that monster will be locked up for life, and Janet's fanily files a lawsuit against the Police Department.
Law enforcement screws up , and gets away with we are sorry. We already knew that from what happened.
They make it sound like the cold case detectives solved this case when all they had to do was send out the DNA that had been literally within reach of the original and all subsequent detectives for SEVEN years. How many other cases has this police department botched?
Damm that sucks
Why would someone do that over a lawsuit for some back rent. Why is life so cheap?
How can a defense lawyer state obvious lies in front of a group of people, well knowing he is lying.. Totally sick…
Incompetence. What were they thinking?
looked like someone helped this lady. if investigator didnt raise the questions, then why she said "nobody involved in this, just me alone"….very suspicious there, to me. i hope im wrong because one killer is good enough than find out more evil in reality 🙏.
cops are always dropping the ball, maybe they should stop eating dognuts and start earning their money….
Lazy police work smh
Kill over rent ?
Ummm wuh? She didn’t mean to??? I don’t think so 🧬🧬🧬
Sweet I ♥️ 🧬 DNA 🧬
She looked like a sweet happy lady. I hope her daughter be okay. Rip
She had help.
Evil bitch
Cops. Never. Solve stuff they are always thinking she ran away
WOW! ALL FOR THE LOVE OF A DOLLAR!
Rip Janna
Dumbazz
No motive are you kidding me, she owed a lot of back rent..
Thank goodness for nosy neighbors.
The original life sentence was overturned and she got a 2018 retrial.
At the retrial in 2018 she was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison.
I hope the scum who murdered for just a couple of thousand dollars she owed in rent, never goes free.
The police did not cover themselves in glory on this case.
She definitely didn't do it alone. She wouldn't be able to pick her up and drag her. And honestly the way that she said :"it was just me I swear" repeating it,her voice was shaking and getting higher as if she was afraid for someone to go to jail that she loved. Possible child if grown or boyfriend. And her body language was showing signs of deception. Take her to polygraph and ask her some questions.
Dumb cops.
Put tape on Ruths mouth. put her in a trunk, leave her. there in 19 degree weather for starters
It was premeditated murder.
My contact with police is that they are overworked with the magnitude of criminal activity today. the answer lies in hiring more police.
It's horrible to imagine how Janna was the whole night in the trunk, in cold, alive and then at one point finally dying
At least the police admitted their mistake and apologized. The others would jus prefer to lie rather than admit their mistakes
