On day three of the Alec Baldwin trial, things stayed heated as Baldwin’s defense attorney hammered numerous witnesses on alleged hidden evidence. Defense attorney Alex Spiro got irritated and even threw his hands up when questioning a detective. Later, a hearing took place where Spiro claimed he had “never seen so many issues during a trial.” This led up to state prosecutor Kari Morrissy taking the stand herself where she was hammered about withholding evidence and calling Baldwin derogatory name. Judge Sommer ultimately dismissed all charges against Baldwin due to the state withholding evidence.

Baldwin’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison. A judge will rule on these issues after hearing motions from the prosecution and Baldwin’s defense. Baldwin was indicted on one count of involuntary manslaughter in January for the death of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

  1. Wow I never saw the beginning of the prosecutor taking the stand.

It was so obvious it was over at that point based on how obstinant and disrespectful she was being to the judge. It's literally what a toddler does when they're busted in a lie and know the jig is up. Had this not been such a high profile case I'd bet the judge would have admonished her right then and there

And she's trying to get this reconsidered. If I were her, I'd walk away being happy I still had my law license and call it a day

  2. My thoughts and questions… Why was Hancock sitting at the prosecution table?
This whole hearing was so confusing.
Why is this ammo evidence that wasn't disclosed so important to Baldwin? (Wasn't his case about pulling the trigger or not pulling the trigger?)
Sounded to me like the prosecution didn't withhold this evidence intentionally.
The prosecutor got too big for her britches trying to one up a big high flaluten celebrity lawyer and really messed up.
It was a very shoddy investigation.
I wonder if any from the state will face ramifications with their job after this dismissal.
It's too bad that Hannah is the only fall guy in this (I know she wasn't doing her job and should be held accountable).
I wonder what this means for Hannah and her appeal.
    What a circus is right!

  3. at least there is some hope of justice and objectivity in our judicial system thanks to a judge like her. This was not a case to begin with but the state pushed it with such prejudice to scapegoat Alec Baldwin. It was so obvious that the prosecutor intentionally withheld the evidence, to the point where losing two of her own people, and she came across as arrogant and disrespectful to the court. The judge including the defense lawyer nailed it and handled it well. I am not necessarily a big fan of Alec Baldwin recently, but justice is justice.

  4. The citizens of the US need to watch this trial in full and i believe it's sobering and humbling illustrating just how little the every day man actually knows about what goes into passing judgement on a citizen. It's quite thorough.

  5. the look on Spiros face @47:53 when judge says "well do you want me to ask the questions first, i have some questions for this witness" (evidnce Pkg and scissors in her gloved hands lol) ….. he's realizing his strategy of of holding back requests for this specific evidence until day 3 (of 8 day trial) is gonna work (he already knows from Tesky there are going to be some starline brass nickel primer rounds but kept it mum).

  6. So if the prosecutor made mistakes but still doesn't mean that Baldwin shouldn't have been charged. I don't think he intended to commit murder I think everyone agrees on that. I suppose it would be up to the family to sue him.
