Drug dealers can run their business from jail by using cellphones. This happens every day.
The chief guard is more concerned about face loosing for not finding contraband, instead of being satisfied for not finding any evidence. I’ve seen a lot of this kind of attitude from prison guards, who get personal (and mean) in their performance and dealings with inmates, instead of acting professionally.
