MISSING TEENS: 2 Cars Found Underwater – Mark Seelman (16) Douglas Goodwin (18)

Two Missing Teens: Mark Seelman (16) and Douglas Goodwin (18) were last seen at DJ’s Bar in the 6400 block of Martin Street in Rome, New York at approximately 12:05 a.m. on June 7, 1990.

The 2 teens had spent the evening drinking and may have been intoxicated when they left.

Eye witness accounts from that night claim that Seelman and Goodwin may have been seen getting into a green vehicle, reportedly a late 1970s Chevrolet Malibu or Nova, with an unidentified African American male.

Investigators speculate they may have been en route to Utica, New York that night, and that the two teens left on their own accord.

Neither of the boys has been heard from again.

This documentary brings you alongside Adventures With Purpose’s underwater search in Rome, NY, following clues as to the teens’ last known location that evening, leading us to search a nearby river where 2 vehicles were found, one being a ’60-’70s green car, and the other one an Oldsmobile Starfire resembling the same size and shape of a ’70s Malibu.

Did we find Mark and Douglas’ final resting place?

Mark’s loved ones believe he did not run away and foul play was involved in his disappearance. He left behind all his clothes, his money, his cigarettes, and his new shoes, and it’s uncharacteristic of him to leave without warning. He wasn’t reported missing for several days, because his family thought he was with friends.

Someone using Mark’s name and Social Security number was located in Missouri in 2001, but police determined this individual was not Mark and had in fact stolen his identity. There have been no leads in his case since then.

Douglas Goodwin was living a transient lifestyle at the time of his disappearance. He left home due to problems with his parents and lived with his girlfriend and her mother in Utica for a few weeks, but shortly before his disappearance, they had an argument, and Goodwin was supposed to move out.

He never collected his belongings and never contacted his girlfriend again. She was pregnant at the time of his disappearance and later gave birth to his son. According to his girlfriend, Goodwin had dropped out of high school and was enrolled in a graphic arts program with the Madison-Oneida Board of Cooperative Educational Services in 1990.

It’s unclear what happened to the two boys after leaving DJ’s Bar that evening.

We are humbled by the opportunity all of you have given us to help in searches like this one for answers as to what happened to Mark and Douglas.

  2. From saving our waters and cleaning our planet to giving people a little piece of mind and some peace to move on knowing they have finally found their loved ones. You guys are the best. BIG FAN πŸ’™

  3. I binge watch your channel, and have watched everything you post! Amazing how your story morphed from cleaning waterways to finding missing people! An amazing transformation to witness ! 4. I am from Muncie, In, I started watching one of your videos one day, and now watch them when I see them. I think it is great you do what you do to help bring the love ones home for their families.
You do great work, and you are always concerned for the families and their feelings. Keep up the good work you do, and be careful at the same time also.

  5. "I don't know what that is but it looks good." Jared is so positive all the time. Here's something weird , I had both a Nova 1974 copper and Malibu 1979 blue. Great work gentlemen. I'm bingeing your channel today. I started watching you because of"Christine Randles' channel. She is covering Kiely Rodnis' story. I'm amazed with Adventures with Purpose.

  6. Love what you guys do! Maybe you should look into some missing persons cases in columbus Mississippi. There's lots of rumors of people possibly in our river. Even one where the car was never found. Keep up the good work on bringing these families answers

  7. Wow that's a little bit of complication there with the two cars ? And people being unsure because there is two vehicles down there, and they look-a-like you don't get this to often 0h ta it's a mind twister for these two Angels right now! I got a feeling it's going to be tossing and turning all night won't be able to sleep. Its to get the license plate and get the names from the license bureau or police station who's car it belongs too .

  8. I'm still a new subscriber who has been binging on these videos when I can. I became a member, bought everyone in my family the car escape tool and am wearing my t-shirt, which I love because its very soft and well made. I also have a box of tissues herewith me and do reach for them a lot. I can't imagine what it's like to have a loved one go missing because you just don't know. I applaud these men for what they do to bring closure to families of missing loved ones. I tell everyone I know about this YouTube channel to spread awareness of this channel and the heroes who do this amazing work!

  9. Impala and Starfire don't look anything alike..BUT they look closer in comparison than they do a Nova..it doesn't matter what year..Impala and Nova don't look alike..AT ALL

  10. We had a case in Pulaski Wisconsin where a man was convicted of his wife's murder, but her body was never recovered. They figured he dumped the body in a quarry where he worked.

  11. How do you go about getting a the black t shirt. On the front of it says what's your purpose. Would love to be able to purchase this shirt. I've seen them wearing it on episodes. Thank you!! Mostly thank you for all your hard work!!! Your team is awesome!
