Toni Sharpless goes missing when she was last seen in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania at 4:45 a.m. on August 23, 2009 after leaving her home in West Brandywine Township, Pennsylvania to go out with a friend, Crystal Johns, that night, never to be seen again.

They originally went to the Ice Nightclub, then to a house party in the 1300 block of Bobarn Drive.

At 3:00 a.m., Sharpless sent a text message to her twelve-year-old daughter.

Toni later caused a disturbance at the party when she got angry with another guest and poured a bottle of champagne on the floor. She and Johns were asked to leave.

Both women had been drinking alcohol that evening, something Sharpless was not supposed to do because of the medication she was taking, and Sharpless had reportedly been awake for approximately 36 hours. She was angry and crying when she left the party with Johns.

They had only driven a few blocks when they got into an argument because Johns didn’t believe Sharpless was sober enough to drive. (Sharpless has a 2008 conviction for driving under the influence.) Sharpless stopped the car and demanded her friend get out, so Johns exited the vehicle and then Sharpless drove away.

Johns initially assumed she would return. When she didn’t come back, Johns had a relative come and pick her up instead. Sharpless has never been heard from again.

Sharpless was driving her black four-door 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with tinted windows and the Pennsylvania license plate number DND7772 at the time of her disappearance. It has never been located.

Someone ran the license plate number in Camden, New Jersey on September 8, two weeks after Sharpless disappeared. By the time Pennsylvania police were notified of this, several days had passed and they were unable to locate the car.

Sharpless’s cellular phone also remains missing and has been turned off since approximately 4:00 a.m. the day she disappeared.

According to Johns, Sharpless was low on gas, and it’s possible she ran out of gas or turned in another direction to go get some.

There were clusters of sightings of her reported in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Camden, New Jersey after her disappearance. All of them took place in areas known for their prostitution and drug activity. None of the sightings have been confirmed.

A private detective hired by Sharpless’s family believes she may have be alive and may have gotten involved with drugs and the sex trade. She had a drug problem in the past. Johns isn’t considered a suspect in her disappearance, and neither is anyone else at the party Sharpless attended that night.

Since Sharpless’s disappearance, there has been no activity on her bank accounts or credit cards. She is a single mother and lived with her mother and stepfather at the time of her disappearance, and worked as an infectious disease nurse at Lancaster General Hospital. She graduated from the nursing program at Immaculata University in 2007.

  1. Guy's this is not a missing person case. This is a homicide case. That's why your pulled of. I don't need to watch entire video. Someone at that party TOOK her. Only God knows where she's at. Good video. Stay safe.

  2. I don't believe she was sober enough either especially to cover the area to drive to camden without getting pulled over I would bet she went down that boat ramp you know things get missed

  3. What was the closest gas stations in the area, since she only had a quarter tank of gas maybe she stopped to refill. I'm from Lancaster and I remember hearing about her story.. God bless her family and I hope she's found

  4. think out of the box what if for the sake of argument the friend was pissed off because she didn't want to hook up with this basketball player or these people that they met up with and one thing led to another and she got hurt. you're looking for a body not a car. when I was young and first with my husband there were two young ladies and they were arguing and we knew them both and the argument was the one wanted to go shack up with one guy and she wanted her friend to go shack up with the other guy and her friend didn't want any part of this. I don't mix words. we ended up driving the second girl home to her home and making sure she was okay because I didn't like the look of it. maybe she just wasn't drunk enough or stupid enough maybe she fought back maybe they tried to force her into sex something went wrong.

  5. She had to have hit a wall (figuratively) at some point…the lack of sleep alone would have caught up to her with a vengence. She could have blacked out at any time. So sad

  6. Words will never desire appreciation that I personally have for this outstanding work you guys do. I'm sure that law enforcement in every state really appreciates for going above, beyond and below the call of duty to bring missing loved ones home no matter how long they've been missing. Thank you so much and I pray that you never stop! You are appreciated!!! 👍💯💯💯

  7. I was just up that way I was on 422 from 183 from 78 I'm a long haul trucker I know highway 30 goes all the way into Philly into the King of Prussia area I know the area really well 220 north and south as well very populated areas there. I was also in the Camden and Pennsauken NJ area very weird case

  8. This one hit home when I heard about this case a while ago, because I am a trauma nurse with autism. I don’t know if she ended up in the water, but I do feel she is not alive. I hope she is found so her family can start the healing process.

  9. We got billed for crossing the Delaware bridge, that car has never left North Carolina. So I respectfully disagree, license plate readers can be wrong.

  10. We have a homemade utility trailer here in florida on the EAST COAST that when not in use the tag stays in the office of an 89 yr old mobile home park landlord. That tag was caught on camera in Tampa area of which we were sent a ticket. The tag was in the office as the lights on trailer were out. Even though we contested the ticket the fine was doubled & we had to pay. Those cameras are not true & correct.

  11. We have this plate photo technology in Florida, it’s not flawless, I get other peoples tickets a few times , car plate didn’t match computer reading so I know the system is nowhere near flawless, the computer auto fills in the missing areas reflecting on plate not visible to camera ! It’s been wrong 2 times in 7 years with me and I’m only 1 person! Imagine the actual amount of computer flaws

  12. And I'm proud of you guys doing that that means a lot to a lot of people around a lot of people don't have money to help and wish they could I do I do I just don't have the money right now to help you if I did I would but you got to do great jobs and I do appreciate it right there God bless all of you
