Two video episodes of the M60A1 Armored Vehicle Landing Bridge (AVLB) during loading and preparing a bridge laying vehicle and practicing the deployment of its 60 foot scissor-type bridge span.

Designed to quickly move heavy military wheeled and tracked vehicles over unstable or hazardous terrain the AVLB consists of three major sections: the launcher, the vehicle hull, and the bridge. The scissors-type bridge weights over 13 000 kg, is made of aluminum and can be deployed under armor protection in 3 to 10 minutes, and retrieved and stowed in 10 minutes to an hour depending on terrain. The M60 AVLB or Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge was introduced in 1963.

  7. 12F operated this, the CEV, and the M9 ACE. All of them were constantly breaking down, hydraulic leaks, electrical, fuel leaks, etc. Hell the M9 ACE couldn't dig a tank fighting position in half the places around the world without breaking or failing
