Mk 45 Mod 4 Lightweight Naval Gun

The Mark 45 (Mk 45) is a U.S. Navy’s lightweight naval gun mount, employed against surface and land targets. The gun mount includes a 20 round automatic loader drum (16-20 rounds per minute).

The Mk 45 Mod 4 gun mount upgrade includes a longer barrel (62 caliber versus 54 caliber of the older versions) that improves the gun’s effectiveness. The Mk 45 mod 4 uses a modified flat-panel gun turret, designed to reduce its radar signature.

  1. Please Google railgun are coil gun
these weapons use electromagnetic waves to push the projectile out of the barrel there is no casing

  2. That's pretty rad, although outside of a few uses I can see the US relay on railgun tech more in the future!!
