Impressively Powerful M134 Minigun in Action – Aerial Gunnery Exercise

U.S. Marines conduct refinement on a UH-1Y Venom, fire a GAU-17/A minigun (M134 Minigun) and GAU-21 Machine Gun during Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course.

WTI is a seven-week training event hosted by MAWTS-1 cadre, which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine Corps aviation in support of a Marine Air Ground Task Force and provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.

  2. The M134. This means it can get as many shots per minute as a hummingbird flaps its wings per minute. 3000 shots and flaps per minute.
    Think about the sound of that weapon when you see the hummingbird.
